Vehicle description
This highly sought after 1997 F450 Super Duty 7.3L Power Stroke Turbo Diesel, with an extended boom, Honda generator, battery bank, fiberglass tool body, ladder rack, is selling due to my wife and I relocating in the fall and we are selling everything. The truck is used and needs some minor attention for small issues which I will illustrate via text and pictures. The truck and engine only have 126,353 miles on it. It had a 4 wheel alignment and drives down the road straight and rides great!
The truck only needs a few minor repairs to be at its best. However, it is inspected until 7/2019 and the things that it may need would be relatively easy to repair prior to getting another fresh inspection.
The truck needs:
1.) Either a new door or body work to the drivers side door and inside the door on the bottom. (It is rusting from a door leak, probably due to a prior incident before I purchased the truck, which appears to have caught the mirror and caused a kink in the door under the mirror, that causes it not to seal properly).
2.) The Honda 3500 generator runs great however, somehow water is getting into the gas tank, at times. I am not sure if it simply needs a new gas cap or a new gas tank.
3.) When I last got the truck inspected (7/2018) I had new breaks (shoes/pads) put on it. It did not stop the pulsing/vibration when the breaks are applied. Therefore, it must need one or all new rotors replaced. I have only put 94 miles on it since the last inspection and have only used it on rare occasions. It primarily sits in the driveway, and therefore needs a new home.
4.) I purchased new batteries a few years ago and it turns over nicely, however recently something has happened to where it must be grounding out and causing the batteries to drain down over night.
5.) This is a 1997 work truck and the interior and exterior is as such. It needs a real good cleaning and minor repair depending on ones personal preference.
6.) The fuel gauges only work intermittently. The truck has 2 fuel tanks and when switching from one tank to another, the gauges go to beyond full, at times.
This truck is being sold AS is. I offer no warranty with the truck. It currently runs great but has the problems listed above. It would be a great truck for someone who has a construction company, tree trimming business, cable/phone/surveillance systems, or even a general handyman.
