Vehicle description

Our trusty Coachmen B-class motorhome is for sale. This is a truly very neat, clean and well maintained 1997 Coachmen DRT Saratoga Class B motorhome on a 3500 Dodge chassis, equipped with a V8 360 engine with only 103.500 miles.
Technical and optical in a very good condition. Definitely the best you can find in this price class.
Clean carpets and wall clothing. No ripped seats or a worn steering wheel. No cracks in the dash. No rust on the bodywork, no cracks in the wind screen, no leakages.
Everything is original, so no ugly seat covers, no overpainted cupboards etc. The interior is very very neat and up to modern standards. Not one of the many motorhomes that have been sitting too long, this one is regularly used and maintained. We just finished a 4 month trip of 9.500 miles without a single problem.
And it will do this over and over if you maintain it like we did. The starter battery and auxiliary battery are less than a year old. The propane system is recently checked and the pressure relief valve replaced. Tires are from 2014, no dry rot, plenty of thread left. The torquey engine is low on revs while cruising, wich makes it a convenient and quiet drive. A strong climber on mountain roads. Shifting goes smooth without a notice. Ofcourse it has all the safety features like a normal luxury car, like airbag and ABS.
The interior layout is very comfortable for two persons, even if camping with a little child. Two comfortable captain chairs in front, passenger side rotating. Behind the drivers side a kitchen block with two burner stove, a sink with running water hot and cold, and a fridge. The fridge works on either 110V, 12V or LPG/propane from the built in tank.
Behind the passenger seat a third captain chair, that also has a quick release to remove it if you want the space for something else.
In the rear are two large couches that can seat 6 persons, with a removable table in between. This seating converts into a large kingsize bed. While traveling with just two persons we always left the bed in place, as there is plenty of room to sit in the comfortable captain chairs.
Behind the bed is on the left side the toilet, and opposed a cabinet to store clothes, outside chairs etc. The motorhome has an outside shower only. Inside showers in B-class motorhomes are not really usable and only take in space.
The motorhome is very luxurous equipped. It has a 2800 Onan built in generator with only 150 hours on it. A roof AC with ducted outlets that also can function as a heater. A built in 16K BTU heater on propane, and a large roof ventilator if you want it more quiet while sleeping. This vent has a special cover on the outside so it can stay open while raining or driving. Full hook up connections for campsites.
A powerful waterheater on propane that quickly heats the water for showering or at the sink.
A flatscreen with a digital antenna and ROKU to watch Youtube, Netflix etc.
Interior lights are upgraded with LED lights so that its easy to stay off grid for a couple of days without running the generator, just on the powerful deep cycle auxiliary battery.
A built-in power converter supplies the 110VAC when on battery.
It comes complete with two outside folding chairs, all the utensils, pots and pans, cutlery and bedding, a 12V vacuum cleaner, fire extinquisher, powercord en hoses for full hook up and even an America the beautiful pass for all the National Parks in the US, valid for another 7 months. Ready to go! Is it 100% perfect? No, if you want that, buy new, and even then you’re not sure.
It has some small signs of use, velcro of the curtains could be replaced, small dent under right taillight and side door (no rust), little sun damage/discolouring. I don’t have to explain why a B-class to people who are looking for it. For the people who are not sure: if you are a real traveler, alone or with two people, not somebody who stays for three weeks hooked up on the same spot at a campsite around the corner, a B-class is ideal. Also for the quick weekends off.
It consumes less gas than half of an A or C class does. It fits in every parking space and drives like a normal car. It is allowed in city centers and on all the roads in National Parks. When not traveling it fits in most drive ways so no expensive storage. No delaminating walls, no roof maintenance, usable as daily driver, easy for boondocking, cheaper on tires, cheaper on insurance, etc. etc.
Even for large family’s: it seats easily 8 to 9 persons. So take the tents for the kids and off you go! Specs: 1997 Coachmen 19 DRT Saratoga Class B Motorhome on a one ton Dodge B 3500 9,200# GVW chassis, powered by a fuel injected 5.9 Liter 360 CI V8, 103.500 miles, Onan 2800 watt generator with only 150 hours, raised fiberglass one piece roof, ice cold dash and 12k BTU roof AC, tilt and cruise, power windows and central door locks, power mirrors, front 3x Dygert captain"s chairs, rear couches with 5 seat belts convert into a roomy sleeper for two, electric/propane fridge, propane water heater, sink, powerful Shurflo waterpump, two burner stove, microwave, toilet with built-in tank, outside shower, flat screen with ROKU and digital antenna, wind in or out awning, manual, and everything working.
