Vehicle description
This 1/2 ton, Class B van camper conversion was manufactured by Chinook RV, a division of Trail Wagons in Yakima, WA. It is a 1997, 17 ft "Cruiser" built on a Chevy Express van chassis. During different periods throughout the 90"s, the conversion manufacturer changed depending on whom Trail Wagons contracted with. In 1997 Road Trek did the interiors for 190"s and 1500"s on these Cruiser vans. That is why this van has both "Road Trek 190", as well as "Cruiser by Trail Wagons" written on the side.
Part of the original conversion was changed and replaced with other pieces; as you can see in the pictures, the interior is in good condition and fully functional for road trips and camping purposes.
The engine is a V8-350, 5.7L. You can pass going uphill! Mileage is 128,762 and the engine works beautifully.
List of interior and exterior features:
fold-out sofa/bed with cushions; storage bin inside sofabed; 3 Captain chairs; removable table; fridge; microwave; sink; two water tanks; tv; mauve carpeting; blinds & curtains; solar panel; monitor panel; auxiliary battery power; rooftop air conditioner/heater; vent & fan; radio and tape deck; power cord & adapter; towing package; spare tire, winch & jack; removable luggage rack; Chevy Express manual; 4 new tires.
List of repairs done:
Rebuilt transmission Rebuilt rear end; gears in rear differential New radiator, gear lube, filter New shocks, wheel bearings New window motor replacement 4 new tires $1000 worth of small cosmetic interior touch-ups
Less than perfect:
Paint job has sun damage from age Passenger door lock generally works best from the driver"s lock Title is an approximation since the motor vehicle division typically has difficulty pegging conversions! Since this van has a combination of Chinook, Trail Wagons, Chevy Express and Road Trek to choose from, the MVD themselves chose Chinook. So if they"re happy we"re happy!
