This RV is named Janet Lee! She was purchased in North Carolina for a two week southern US road trip so we could meet up with friends and celebrate the life of a fellow RV enthusiast that left us too soon. We own a Beaver RV at home on the west coast of Canada, however for this short trip so far from home we decided to purchase Janet!
Our trip took us across 11 states and we covered just under 3000miles. The Rv ran flawlessly! The RV is now located in secure storage in Las Vegas Nevada. A close family friend of ours has the signed clean title, bill of sale, and keys ready to go!
Beaver motor coaches boast many high end features overlooked by most coach builders. All of the cabinets are real wood with solid surface counter tops, real tile floors, and high end leather furniture. The windows are all dual paned and the walls, roof, and floor are well insulated, including the baggage area of the RV. The basement is a full pass through that is insulated and heated. All of the baggage doors have remote power locking abilities.
The Beaver RV also has specific, well organized service bays for engine maintenance, a wet bay for docking services, and an electrical bay.
The Beaver RV has a 7500kw Onan Diesel generator that is quiet with less then 700 hours on it. However on the last day of our trip it sprung a fuel leak and we had to plug the line. This will need to be reconnected for it to work again.
Janet Lee the Beaver RV has had 3 owners. It was purchased new in Alabama. In around 2001 the RV sustained some damage to the roof and water intrusion. The original owner spent a lot of money to put on a rubber roof over top of the existing fiberglass roof, so she now has two roofs! Several interior upgrades were made at that time as well, including a new carpet in the Livingroom and bedroom. The second owner inherited the RV from the first owner as they were related.
The second owner was not an RV person and did not use the coach at all. The RV spent a great deal of time sitting in storage. The RV had further items replaced like two new fantastic vents, and also the second owner was the one to remove the air conditioners to preform more roof maintenance. However he did not hook them back up correctly and did not clean the headliner post repair. Our trip was too short to preform all of the items needed to make the coach perfect as our trip was more like vacation boot camp! We were also far from home and did not have any tools with us.
This RV does need a little TLC, however most of the items are fairly small. The coach will need a good clean, a proper service, and new tires. Below we have gone over all the systems we know about. Sadly the second owner did back the RV into a tree where the rear end cap does have some damage. However there is another wall inside the cap that is the real wall to the inside. This is not damaged. The exterior cap is a cosmetic issue.
There is a couple spots inside the RV where you can see evidence of unrepaired cosmetic water damage like inside the main bedroom closet. However we did not experience any leaks on our trip. There is also a couple spots of age related damage from being in storage a long time. Please see our youtube videos for more information.
