Vehicle description
1996 Volkswagon / Winnebago Rialta VW 22 ft Model VW 221HD Low mileage
Up for sale here is a Class B 1996 VW Rialta Motor home Camper by Winnebago, We purchased it used in October of 2006 with the intent of traveling. We had the full intent of driving it to Alaska. However, our ages and health problems prevented this and we mostly used it, occasionally, to drive 80 miles to the Doctor visits. The current mileage is only 36,000 miles. It had 24,437 miles when we bought it.
We replaced everything that needed replacing, when we bought it, but that was over 11 years ago so even though we did all the scheduled service and maintenance, it is being "Sold-As-Is". There are a few minor quirks such a tiny wall lamp that needs to be replace and the plastic on the gear shift is cracked and we have it taped in place and I am sure several other things that I don"t know about. All the other lamps and lights work. I will point out that the front seats are faded and the drivers seat is busted and these you may want to reupholster. We put seat covers on them and that worked well for us. It states in the manufacturer"s brochure, thanks to the VW 2.5 Engine, on the road you will be getting 20MPG. Just driving it locally, we have been getting 19MPG. So on a road trip, you should get the 20MPG. This truly is a great RV.
We had a new Air Conditioner installed. The on board Generac Generator shows 138 hrs, it starts and runs well load without any issues.
My husband, before he died, would drive it about 10 miles once a week just to keep everything flowing smoothly. It has been kept under a shelter and on the occasional South Carolina freezing weather, we have kept the water pipes drained and a small heater on it it. In fact, the pipes are stilled drained. We replaced all 4 tires about 3 years ago.
At some time, before we bought it, it had a leak around the sky light on the top. I, just this past week, had someone come and put seallant around everything on top. I dont know if it still had a leak but, hopefully, if it did, this preventative measure stopped it. Being sheltered, it has not been out in the rain since we have owned it.
This RV has a full "pull out" bath room with mirrored medician cabinet, sink, toilet and shower. Both AC units blow nice and are fully operational, the rooftop AC is a Coleman Mach and functions flawlessly. The motor runs smoothly and is so easy to drive. The dash AC may need a little freon.
We are not an RV dealer so, like I said, it is being sold strictly "as is" and "where it is". It has a clean title. The buyer will be responsible for either picking it up or having it shipped. A $500 deposit thru paypal is due immediately upon winning the bid. Balance, thru Paypal or certified check must be received before the motorhome and title will be released to the buyer.
This motor home comes with everything pictured, VW Winnebago factory operations manual binder, includes all the books. The camper has a full box bed with plenty of storage space under. Lots of drawers and cabinet space including one large enough to hang clothes.
Overall this is a very clean RV, with normal minor wear and tear but once again the best part is of course the low mileage, and in my husbands opinion the reliable work horse Audi VW 2.5L Engine with timing chain. I know of no accidents that it has been involved in.
Check out my feedback and bid with confidence, questions welcome but please ask prior to winning the bid. The buyer will be responsible for shipping or local pickup in Society Hill, South Carolina.
Please ask any question before bidding.
