Vehicle description
This is a 1996 Georgie Boy Pursuit on a Chevy P30 chassis with a 454 7.4L V8 and an automatic transmission. It has a Kohler 4500 Watt Generator. Has a clean CT title. She runs well and has plenty of power, we used to tow our Suburban behind it.
We bought this unit in 2010 from the original owner and between then and 2015 used this almost every weekend of the northeast camping season and for yearly trips to Myrtle Beach from Connecticut. It has also taken us to Key West, New Orleans, The Great Smokey Mountains, Natchez Trace Parkway, Blue Ridge Parkway, and Niagara Falls just to name a few. The kids grew up and we moved to SC and have only used it as a guest house since. It"s last trip was the 800 mile move in August 2015 and we had no issues other than a flat tire.
It is currently set up with 3 bunk beds in the back and we used the drop down table up front as our bed. The couch also pulls out to another bed. It has a full bathroom and a shower. Kitchen has a double sink, stove with oven, microwave oven and 2-way refrigerator. There is lots of outside storage as well as under the beds and the dinnette.
Here is the Good:
Fridge (gas or Electric), Stove, Water Heater, Air Conditioning, Heat, Generator all work great . Awning is is decent shape (has some holes patched) and pulls out smoothly.
I replaced the entire roof, wood and rubber, as well as all new vents. I removed the entire passenger side replaced the plywood and re-glued the fiberglass siding.
The floor of the drivers area was replaced and re-carpeted. The rest of the floors are solid.
Transmission was replaced by Aamco in 2010 at 79,000 miles. The Dana 70 rear differential was replaced by an RV shop in Niagara Falls in 2014. I put 2 new tires on in 2011 and another 2 in 2014. All of the tires are in good shape. Power converter was replaced a few years ago with a Wizard smart charger that senses when the batteries need charging. It has 2 Trojan coach batteries that test good although they are about 5 or 6 years old. and the Starting Battery is brand new.
I would feel comfortable driving this anywhere and camping on the way.
Here is the bad: The drivers side fiberglass siding is de-laminating behind the drivers door as you can see in the pics. This was a common problem in the 90"s and is cosmetic I rebuilt the dashboard many years ago and never finished the carpeting or wiring all the lights I had planned. (I did add some cool gauges for the batteries and the generator voltage)
There is a repair in the upper back compartment due to water damage and a stain above the drivers seat from before the roof was replaced.
I am sure you can find some other cosmetic issues since it is 23 years old.
Overall, this may not be the prettiest rig in the campground but it is comfortable and we LOVED camping in it. I wish the kids didn"t have to grow up so we could continue to make memories in it, but now it is your turn.
Feel free to ask questions or come see it if you are local.
Remember, although I have confidence in this running and driving fine, it is 23 years old with 95K miles so there is NO warranty . Buyer is responsible for pick up or shipping from Socastee, SC just outside Myrtle Beach. I am available always, the storage yard is open from 7am to 7 pm.
