New wife forces sale of my beloved Lightning. While it has been in California for 12 years, it began life in Michigan, so it has some rust. I don’t have the original gas cap, so the “check engine” light comes on occasionally, and will require a cooperative smog checker in California unless you can find the correct cap. I had the transmission rebuilt a few years ago, and since then it has been geared lower, which is fine with me, as I’m never in a hurry, but if you’re planning on cruising at 75 mph, this isn’t your Rialta. Cruising at 60 puts you at 3500 rpm. .redline is 5200. I’ve removed the interior batteries to save weight as I never used them for the refrigerator, etc. Also, I emptied the propane tank several years ago, as I don’t use the stove or frig, but they did work at that time. I’ve never used the toilet or shower. The generator doesn’t work. The engine, though underpowered, runs strong.
