Vehicle description

Diesel! Diesel! Diesel!
This is a very rare Ford 7.3L DIESEL coach. Gulfstream Conquest Limited Edition. Low mileage, very well kept two owner coach. I spent months tracking it down. Rare Ford 7.3 turbodiesel (with IDI 7.3 with Hypermax turbo done at Hypermax"s HQ in Chicago in October 2016). I have $37,000-40,000 in it. 75,190 actual miles.
If you know diesels, you know the 7.3L Ford platform is legendary for its bulletproof reliability and longevity.
We are the second owners (title may show intervening owner; but, they outbid me then realized it would not fit in their garage and sold it to me days after they bought it; have a pic of it outside their garage). It"s a minty time capsule.
The first owner kept it garaged and owned it from new until 2016. He also make hand cut cardboard, rubber and clear plastic fit ins for all the storage bays, which are still there. As a result, the bay carpets are pretty much like new. See montage pic for examples.
Excellent shape in & outside. Runs great. Very strong. No water leaks or damage etc. Cold roof a/c and cold dash a/c. Reliable LP generator with low hours. First owner also replaced the awning with a new one sometime around 2012, if memory serves.
On our ownership we have made upgrades/key repairs as follows:
1. Hypermax Turbo kit and full Stainless Steel exhaust. Hypermax is the top company for the Ford 7.3 liter IDI diesel upgrades. After researching that, we took it to Chicago, to Hypermax ourselves and had them put in the turbo install and exhaust while we visited friends there. Vehicle has *plenty* of power and sounds awesome. Cost was over $4,000.
2. New Heavy Duty Transmission. The one weak link in the earlier Ford 7.3L diesel drivetrains is the trans can go at under 100k miles. This one did at about 65k miles. We had a new, heavy duty transmission installed at a cost of well over $4,000 by Rockville Light Truck (who have done all key heavy lifting on all 5 of my my motorhomes).
3. We added the M&G Engineering towed vehicle braking system to the coach. That is, it has the air pump needed to actuate brakes using the M&G equipment on a vehicle. We did this to be able to tow our Jeep JK Rubicon. We never actually towed it with this rig, sold the JK and wound up just touring without a TOAD. But the M&G system is *the* best braking system out there. We have the parts for equipping a Jeep JK with the brake cylinder actuator and the optional break away kit. We have the right to buy a different cylinder for another vehicle at a discount and can work that for a buyer if they do not have a JK and want to keep the system. System can be seen/is explained at: https:/ m-gengineering.com/ We also have a BlueOx tow bar from our last motorohome that we can include if the buyer intends to use it to tow.
4. I upgraded the locks to high-end combo locks on the storage bays.
5. We *removed* the cabinets above the driver and passenger to convert the RV from having one berth in the cab to room for two; and, made a matching piece with mattress to fill in the space so it’s good to go.
6. New fridge cooling parts. That is, the entire mechanical side of the fridge is basically brand new. Was so-so cooling before. Works fabulously now.
7. At Hypermax, I had them install rear leveling jacks and they custom fabbed up an extended jack handle so they can be easily extended without crawling under the RV.
8. When we first got the RV, I stripped and repainted the entire roof with high grade RV roof primer and then white rubberized sealant paint. No leaks before we got it. No leaks on our watch.
Probably a few other odds and ends but that’s the highlights.
We have owned five motorhomes, the last before this being a 500hp 41" Travel Supreme with slide outs. We loved this one best, by far. Simple. Reliable. Easy to drive and maneuver. Great MPG (our first, a V10 gas Class C got 6.75 mpg; this one delivers 9-13 depending on load/speed). My wife and I are selling because our kids are all now 21+ and wife has a back issue that is likely to keep her from camping for some time. So, we"re restoring a 1996 Buick Roadmaster Wagon and will be using that for our travels, looks like.
Technically, sleeps 8 now. But personally, I think the max # of adults would be 4-5. The dinette bed and jacknife sofa are really meant for two kids/young teens.
Note: Some of the interior and some of the exterior shots are pics I had already but they are representative; first several shots of exterior are recent and accurate. Pic with the CB is old. That is no longer there. You"d never know it had been though; no damage to dash where it was removed. Wood cup holder console was just removed from doghouse; removed it to repair the heat shield on doghouse. I have it & it can be reinstalled. Needs a couple curtains re-hung and a few other very minor interior cosmetic maintenance items. At full ask ($24,000), I will tend to those. Otherwise, figure you"ll spend a couple hours and $100-200.
Reasonable offers will be considered. But folks I know what I have and am far from desperate. These coaches with this bulletproof 7.3L drive train are exceedingly rare. Class C diesels in this size are also rare in this price range. In this condition I doubt there"s another 7.3L diesel Ford in the country. It was nigh impossible to find - took months. If you don"t know what you"re looking at, please just move on.
