Vehicle description
This is my 1995 Gillig Phantom. It was one of 10- buses delivered by Gillig to the city of Gainesville for public transportation in 1995, It was then purchased by Escot Bus Lines and operated as a shuttle bus at universal studios. This has been a fleet bus up until I purchased it, and was well maintained. The bus has a Florida title, has been converted to a recreational vehicle, it is no longer commercial, and it can be operated with only a class E license. The bus has been converted but is not finished. It has a 50amp electrical hookup and cable, 30amp service converter with battery charger, and 110v power. it has a galley with kitchen sink, a full sized house bath tub, and a bathroom vanity and sink. Plumbing is started but not finished. The bus has 4- RV bunk beds, and a place for a king size mattress in the back. 6- of the original seats remains for passengers and the drivers air ride seat. The bus has good tires minor cupping on front right due to a shock that needs to be replaced. It comes with a parts manual. It has a series 50 Detroit diesel engine with an Allison automatic 5-speed transmission with retarder, both electronically controlled. The ECM was replaced in 2012, the cylinder head and all fuel injectors were replaced in 2013, the engine balance shaft was replaced in February 2018, and the transmission was replaced in September 2012. The Thermoking transit AC has a slow leak in the system and needs refilling. It takes about 3-months to leak down. I have Some spare belts and filters that goes with the bus.
