Vehicle description
Custom-built camper. It looks like a 1975 King camper, but only the skin and windows is what’s left of the original camper. The rest went to the dump. The destruction of these stick built campers is always eminent because of their design. Moisture from the inside condenses on the inside of the cold skin. It cannot get out, stays in the wall, and rots and decomposes the wood. You cannot live in one of those campers, but you can live in this one. When I built this camper in 1999, there’s a ¼-inch space between the skin and the rest of the camper, which has screened openings along the entire bottom of the camper, which are not visible. On top of the roof is a screened vent to exhaust any moisture that might enter there. The mere sunlight will heat the skin, and evaporate any moisture that’s collected. The insulation is 1 ½-inch of closed cell styrofoam, not fiberglass. Also, all four corners have steel reinforcement from top to bottom, to which the jacks are bolted, not screwed. There are captive nuts welded to the steel tube under the skin. This is why the corners are rounded. The steel goes all the way to the top of the camper, and there are welded nuts near the top, on both sidewalls, to which I used to have a steel rack on top of the camper. Features: 1000-Watt Heart inverter, 140-Watts solar panels on the roof, room for six golf cart batteries; four included. Will charge off solar or engine automatically. Has 120volt refrigerator, microwave, and outlets. Propane furnace, stove & water heater; two 5 gal. propane tanks, 6 gal. water heater. Double-pane windows (tinted privacy film). Grey water tank/17 gal., fresh water tank inside/30 gal. Fantastic fan, shower, Thetford porta-potty. Lots of storage inside, more locking bins outside, motorcycle platform. Great for cold weather camping or warm. We’ve camped at -26 farenheit, and were snug as a bug, with no plumbing issues. The 1994 Toyota T100 truck did not come with 1-ton springs in the back, or air bags, but it has both now. It has 205,000 miles, and runs great. It averages 14 mpg, if you keep the speed under 60. Everything works, including the AC, electric windows, stereo, etc. Speedometer is sometimes optimistic. I have the original truck bed and camper shell that came with the truck, and if you pick it up, you can have it, with the trailer that it’s sitting on right now. If you want me to deliver the truck and camper to you, I’ll have to tow a car behind it, and the truck bed and camper shell stay here, to be sold separately. Delivery will cost .50 cents/mile. It’s located in Hamilton, ND. New timing belt, water pump, and all idler pulleys. Does not burn oil, runs great – it’s a Toyota. I also have the factory service manual you can have.
