Vehicle description
1994 Sportsmobile Camper Van built on a Dodge B350 Van Chassis with only just under 58k miles. Almost no rust at all. Garaged in Wisconsin, almost never driven in the winter, and spent its earlier life in California and Texas. This 1994 Sportsmobile is a custom design with pop-top, 4 captain’s chairs, 4 cubic foot AC/DC refrigerator, stove, tons of storage, and so much more. See the additional pictures below for the original build sheets for complete list of options. - - The Sportsmobile has been in my family since it was built—I have a nearly complete set of maintenance history. This van holds a lot of nostalgia for me, but no longer meets the camping needs of my family and I can’t justify continuing to hold on to it only for nostalgia when there are others out there who can continue to get great use out of it. This camper van can sleep 2 adults up top in the penthouse and 1 adult down below. A bed is included that can go across two of the captain’s chairs. It will also fit nicely on the floor in the aisle, which made a great spot for me to sleep when I was a child. I would recommend taking out the 4 th captain’s chair closest to the rear passenger door out to add additional space in the van and to be able to take advantage of the countertop extension. (See pictures of the chair both in and out of the van) While this has been an excellent van for my family, it is not all perfect. Perhaps the most annoying fault is that there is a small leak when the pop-top is up that lets some rain water in to the by the rear passenger doors. I have used expanding spray foam to try to fill in wherever the hole is. While this helped, it did not solve the problem entirely. It does not appear to leak when the roof is down. The second negative is that there are areas where the clear coat peeled (or is actively peeling) away from the blue stripe around the van. Additionally, there are some spots where the white van paint has stripped away. I have tried to include pictures of both of these. Otherwise, everything else is in great working condition. The van’s AC and Heat work perfectly, along with everything else related to the van itself. On the RV side, the refrigerator gets and stays cold. The pop-top stays up as it should. NOTE: This van does not have a built-in bathroom. There is an included portapoti that has never been used. We always removed it and used the cabinet for additional storage since we camped where there were bathrooms. This van also does not have a hot water heater or RV furnace. The only thing that uses propane is the stove. We would turn on and run the van for its air conditioning and heater to cool and warm the van when occasionally needed.
