Oh where to begin. . This thing is a hot mess. If you are not extremely handy and love the thrill of roadside adventures and challenges click the back button and look elsewhere.
1992 Allegro Bay diesel pusher
34" rv with WVO(waste vegetable oil) conversion 5.9 liter Cummins turbo intercooled diesel engine starts easy and runs good on diesel. A separate tank for wvo has been added with the associated valves and pump to switch over. Separate heater circuits have been added to preheat wvo for easy pumping. I"ve had good luck running on wvo but only when you"ve got good, well filtered, clean oil. With dirty oil you"ll fight it and have to switch back and forth between diesel to keep it running smooth. It also seems to like summer temperatures for good flowing oil but will run in cooler temps if it"s been preheated for a while. We were able to travel for almost free harvesting vegetable oil along the way but expect a considerable learning curve to get it right.
If you were not interested in running on wvo it functions 100% as a regular diesel motor when the valves are set to straight diesel.
Good shifting Allison automatic transmission Great oil pressure. Cooling system works but I"ve had to slow down in hot weather on long climbs to keep it cool. I"ve climbed wolf creek pass in Colorado many times fully loaded but had to go slow. Tires are pretty good and hold air. Power steering good. Brakes good. I lost the keys and had to drill out the steering column so currently starts without keys. Most of the automotive stuff works except the ac. Some of the circuits are run from junctions with the house batteries so they won"t come on unless new house batteries are installed. It runs on three but currently has none. It has a normal 12 volt battery for starting the engine. Lights are kind of wonky but sometimes work.
RV stuff The refrigerator is newer and works 100% on 120v ac, 12v dc, or propane. 60 gallon(i think) propane tank is good. Microwave works. Stove and oven work. Water damage on the floor and subfloor. All the carpet was removed and replaced with peel and stick tile but those have all come loose. Kitchen sink is there and plumbed in but countertop is badly damaged and would need replaced to use the sink. It"s way worse than you can see in the pictures. Propane water heater works but there is leaking water line so we left it off when not in use. We still used it for showers and dishes but then turned it off. Two forced air propane furnaces on board but I never used them so condition unknown. Most of the interior lights work or would work with new bulbs. Toilet functions. Bathroom sink works. Couch folds into bed. Mattress in rear bedroom is gone. Roof leaks and needs repaired. Both roof air conditioners work.
Bottom line: There is a lot of good stuff here but also a ton of repairs needed. It is old and sold "as-is" and one should assume there will be all kinds of stuff to fix. Description is a guideline to the condition but there are no guarantees.
I would not hesitate to drive this anywhere and would deliver anywhere in the continental US for $2/mile from 66044. This doesn"t mean I guarantee you can drive it anywhere depending on your abilities to handle roadside repairs while struggling with buyer"s remorse and an angry spouse.
