Vehicle description
1992 Marmon log truck— model 57 PHR— comes with a Prentice 120C boom , Cat 3406B engine, and a 8LL transmission. Has differential locks, heavy-duty rears. Once known as the Rolls-Royce of trucks, this beautiful giant is mechanically very sound. All breaks, including drums, are new- with less than 2,000 miles on them. Engine, clutch, rears, all good. I believe the engine and injection pump were rebuilt, since I can see a rebuilt sticker on the injection pump, but I cannot prove this with docs.
Idle on a hot day, truck runs at 60-65 psi oil pressure. Left outrigger leaks oil; everything else is dry. Has a boom extension the previous owner chained up BUT CAN BE HOOKED UP. Cylinders for the grapple and some hydraulics recently rebuilt. Grapple turns indefinite, so does the boom. Air system holds air for a day and more. Tires are good, the rears are recaps. Tires on the lift axle not as good as the others.
Previous owners were a company who hauled railroad ties; they kept good maintenance, didn’t overwork vehicle. Truck runs smoothly and starts in the coldest weather. A joy to drive. Boom has not been beat, fairly tight for its age.
Odometer reads 362,383. However, due to its age, actual mileage could be higher. Bed is app 25 feet long.
After purchasing the truck, if the buyer requests, I can relocate the boom to the front for an additional $5,000.
I’m selling this truck as is. Naturally, at its age, it’s going to have some blemishes or minor issues. If you’re looking for a sparkly, factory floor model, then this auction is not for you. I’ll tell you everything I know about the vehicle to help you make the best-informed decision possible. Please contact me with any questions you have, before you bid. Buyer is encouraged to bring their own mechanic and have it checked out before purchase. If the winning bidder comes to takes a look at the truck in person and decides it’s not right for them, then, they’re also free to walk away and not complete the sale.
My motto— let’s communicate. If you have questions, feel free to call me directly at (610) 488-8888.
Happy Bidding!
Please note the this truck is also for sale locally So bidding could end earlier.
