I"m selling this beautiful Airstream for a good friend and local celebrity known as "Mr Rib". He"s been operating catering trucks here in Fresno, California for over 30 years, serving his famous BBQ meals to the people of the Central Valley. During both Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as other special occasions, you"ll find Ned and his crew serving his amazing food to the community for FREE! His good deeds have been a blessing to everyone in this area.
So Ned spent the last 3 years building his flag ship truck, a beautiful rig with a custom rotisserie BBQ built right into the back. It was a sight to see with that BBQ smoke pouring out of those chrome stacks! Unfortunately a few months ago, his truck caught fire and was a total loss (luckily no one was injured). He was devastated.
That"s when the Airstream arrived. He calls it a gift from God, we just think it"s beautiful. I personally had never seen one in person and I"m pretty sure he hadn"t either. It was intended to be a "donor" to be converted into his new food truck but when the conversion company looked at it, they advised against it. They suggested he sell it to a collector and use the funds to find something more appropriate for his catering. That"s where I come in. I agreed to help him sell it on so here it is. I"m sorry that I don"t know much about it, I"m a car guy and this is way out of my wheelhouse.
Here"s what we do know.
It"s a 1992 300 LE, single axle, gas powered Airstream RV that looks to be fairly original other than the solar system.
It runs good, shifts good and the brakes work fine.
The interior shows some wear but looks complete.
We can get the generator to fire up but it won"t stay running.
The gear shift will not stay in park.
The odometer does not work, true miles unknown!
The tags are up to date and he has the title in hand.
He"s driven it a couple hundred miles with no problems but it might be a good idea to check it over more thoroughly before any major road trips.
We don"t have a "buy it now" price because honestly, we"re not sure what it"s worth. The plan is to sell this coach for as much as possible so Mr. Rib can get back to what he does best, feed the people!
You are welcome and encouraged to either inspect this RV in person or send someone to do so. He is selling it as-is so please do your research. Most of you reading this know far more Airstreams than we do. In fact, any additional info anyone can provide is greatly apprecitated!
