Vehicle description
Truck was parked for 3 years due to the previous owner going out of business. I put in a new fuel pump, spark plugs and wires, and battery and it starts without an issue.
* *It needs to be treated for rust. The exhaust pipe has rusted apart and needs to be welded back together. The vehicle doesn"t accelerate properly because of the separated exhaust.
* *It also needs a new generator or the current generator repaired. Once, I got the truck running, I turned on the generator to make sure the sweeper functioned. Everything worked but when I was lowering the back of the sweeper the generator began to spit out oil. So, the back is stuck in the upward position. I used straps to get the base off of the ground so that I could drive it.
* *The only other thing that would need to be done to get it road and work worthy is a patch to cover a hole in the gas tank. All of these are simple fixes but I am not in the sweeper business so I don"t want to put too much money into it.
* *Motor and transmission work flawlessly and do not need repair. Sweeper works flawlessly and does not need repair.
I was quoted $380 from a local mechanic to get it repaired, not including the cost of a new generator.
