1991 BMY Military 5 ton truck. Condition is Used. This truck was custom build by Plan B Supply out of Ogden Utah. Was a ROPS meaning it came with a hard shell cab and roll bar from factory. The cab and roll bar were extended. Gunner and escape hatch in place.
Seats six in seat belts. Tool box under back bench. Front bucket seats have air ride with height and multiple position adjustments. Top rack is 12" by 8" the size of a utility trailer. 100 gallon auxiliary fuel tank in the bed with fuel line and attached nozzle to refuel self or other vehicles Installed air conditioning. Turbo temperature gage installed. Was refurbished at the factory and then sold with low hours. I will check the hours and update here. Cummins 8.3L turbo diesel. 5 speed automatic transmission - very easy to drive. Six wheel drive works great. CTIS - Central Tire Inflation System works. It"s a little touchy but has always let me air up and down when wanted. 50" tires Added receiver hitch and electrical converter. Can run lights for military trailer and or civilian. $2,500.00 conversation box. Solar trickle charger keeps the batteries strong! I have the vertical ribs and a new custom vinyl cover for the bed too. Able to get everything out of the weather and protected. The style is the same original troop transport cover. And there"s more!
What"s not right with it. 3 of the 4 light bars need connection checked. Not coming on. When the turbo gauge was installed they quit. I think the connection is loose. They have always worked great. Turns night into daylight! Winch needs to be bolted down better. Missing two bolts. Not sure why that was missed at the shop. But it comes on and seems to work well. Has a remote as well as hard wire tether. Looses it"s fuel prime after a few weeks without starting it. I"ve been told they all do this? ? Door handles have a small metal cover over the actual mechanism. One of them is missing. Easy part to find online.
So you would have a few little items to get it all perfect again but not much. It"s in great shape and a ton of fun. This truck looks so amazing. It towers over regular vehicles. I have never been to a parking lot or gas station without drawing a small crowd. People"s phones come out. They want pictures by it. They ask questions. If you have a business that needs to be noticed put your logo on the side and drive it around some times. Totally street legal. It would quickly become a local ICON everywhere you go. It simply can"t be missed. I have had it off road too. If that"s your plan it"s amazing. The clearance is massive. We were on a backed up dirt road waiting for other vehicles to get out of the way. Decided to take an impassable path around the road block. Took it down through a ravine that others could not because of brush, small trees and very steep exit. In 6 wheel drive it simply walked over everything and then crawled up the other side of the hill. Nobody else could even think of following. So that"s about it. You get the idea.
