Vehicle description
It is a Land Rover Defender 127/130 S upplied to British Army in Germany in 1990. Rapier missiles in trays on back and towed the launcher. Very low mileage when bought in 2000.Foley’s converted it into a safari camper.Shipped to Australia where it spent 2 years intermittently on outback tracks. Then a brief time in New Zealand before being shipped to Oakland. Crossed to Ohio and then back to Alcan Highway, Youkon and Alaska. Then western Canada and south to Baja California. Various trips followed in US plus Labrador and the Maritime Provence"s. After time in Europe it was shipped to Namibia and traveled extensively in southern and eastern Africa. From Kenya took the classic route to Egypt following the Nile. The South American trip was abandoned after Uruguay and Argentina by a break in and mechanical problems ( no spares allowed into Argentina! !) Now in fine shape again and for sale in US. All service records from 2000 including overseas. The engine is 300 tdi. 2500cc 4 cylinder turbocharged . 296000km ( 185000 miles) Gearbox recently replaced with reconditioned unit (5 gears with high and low range plus Roverdrive overdrive.) Two fuel tanks (34gal) Vital for Australian Outback.
