Vehicle description
Purchased on 2/2/99 from Ryder in Charlotte, NC with odometer reading at 46,554. Current odometer reading is 245,796. Before my ownership Ryder leased to Sea Ray Boats, makers of lightweight fiberglass boats, for 9 years, who hauled one way to dealer lot.
History: Always single axle; in approximately early 2000 stretched 45 inches to accommodate 53 foot trailer to carry 3 crew cab, long bed pickups (without stretch would only carry 2). I deadheaded to TX and brought 3 pickups back at a time.
Before 2005 I had bottom end of 3406 B (non-computer) redone with new bearings. At that time had new Eaton Spicer 9 speed transmission and jake added.
2007 was last trip to TX. We added second air ride seat and air bag rear end, changing from 410 to 355 ratio at that time.
A/C was replaced by Kenworth in mid 2000"s.
Brakes and drums along with new canisters in last five years.
I only ran to TX when weather was clear to avoid ice and salt. Any and all parts were replaced any time needed. I never cut corners on quality or when needed.
New starter April 2018. Oil always changed every 12,000 miles and 2-3 quarts added between changes. Always used 15-40 Rotella Oil.
XM Satellite equipped.
Original Fifth wheel hitch is available.
