1989 Peterbilt 579 5 Axle Dump Truck w/ 6 Axle Pup (Short Double). 1989 Peterbilt 579 5 Axle Dump Truck (Front & Rear Lift Axles w/ 6 Axle Pup (Short Double). I am looking to sell my 89 Short Double with a C-15 CAT 4NG. This truck is in great condition with almost no rust. The truck and trailer are ready to run as sits used it all last year every day with no breakdowns. Engine has been very recently rebuilt and starts no matter the weather like new. Has a lot of new parts (Turbo, rebuilt engine, starter solenoid, a couple of new wheel bearings and seals) Truck has a reverse 15 speed. Has Diff Lock. Good tread all of the way around.
