If you need to store it for more than 3 months, we charge $70 a month. - - - - Up for sale is a vintage and very rare 1989 Airstream 345LE Motorhome, featuring a 5.9L Cummins Diesel engine with an automatic Allison Transmission and 123,094 miles. This RV spent its entire life in Texas until relocated to Indiana this year. It gets approximately 13 miles per gallon, and is the only known diesel puller built by Airstream with a Cummins/Allison combination, making it incredibly rare and unique. This combo was a $14,000 option when new. It is ready for immediate use.
You can take a look at more photos on our Photobucket ( http:/ app.photobucket.com/u/berningtrailers/a/507d23b9-9951-430f-9203-440f487be164 ) and a walk around video on YouTube (http:/ www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvFsI4x7x2o).
The 345LE is known for its extremely spacious and luxurious interior and its Airstream aluminum exterior. There is no other motorhome on the road that receives as much attention as a 345LE, especially a Cummins Diesel in mint condition. The original MSRP was $141,784.00, the equivalent of $306,620.94 in today’s dollars. Given that this is the only one known to exist, we have priced it at accordingly. This motor coach is for the collector that is looking for something different and unique from other 345LEs. We are also accepting offers.
This collectable Limited Edition 345 Airstream motor home is aerodynamically shaped with a riveted aircraft type aluminum body construction with aluminum wheels. Included on board is an Onan 6500 propane powered generator, two roof air conditioners, two powered vents, leveling jacks, a 3 way refrigerator and freezer which recently had the cooling unit replaced, TV & VCR, am/fm cassette player, back up camera, microwave oven and four burner range. Beautiful blue interior and exterior. The oak interior cabinetry was recently professionally stripped and stained and presents extremely well with a constant shine. Additionally, the dinette cushions and couch were reupholstered in 2004 and are in fantastic shape.
We have over $6,000 in service receipts from July, 2021. Many parts have been replaced and serviced this year, including:
* 3 Onboard Marine Batteries * 8 new 11R 22.5 Tires * New Fuel Pump and Regulator * New Brake Master Cylinder * Dash Lights Overhauled * New Fuel Gauge * New Steering Drag Link * Replaced 6 Marker Lights * Fully Serviced (oil change & filter, fuel and hydraulic filters, 35 Point Vehicle Check)
We tested the water systems and they are in working order with no leaks. The unit includes a kitchen and bathroom sink as well as a shower.
Inside the interior, it features factory wood blinds and oak cabinets. Keeping with originality, the front sofa converts automatically into a queen-sized bed with the flip of a switch, facing two club swivel chairs and a solid ivory style coffee table. In the master bedroom, a queen-sized mattress is accessed from three sides in the rear of the coach, with original cedar-lined closets and floor safe. Heating and A/C are reconditioned (1 in back, 1 in front and the A/C in dash). The back AC unit is original and the front unit was replaced a few years ago.
The bathroom has a high end commode, all the original countertops and sink, large mirrors and a separate shower. The Galley has a four-burner stovetop, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, built-in spice rack and amazing storage. The dining area also folds down into a small twin bed. All the countertops are classic DuPont™ Corian® solid-surface material, specially engineered to be both visually stunning and long-lasting. All cabinets are solid oak, not pressboard.
Overall the exterior is in stunning shape considering the age. It was always stored inside and you can tell. The patina is in fantastic original condition.
There are only a few known, very minor flaws which remain to be sorted. The cruise control isn"t currently working, the old backup display turns on but doesn"t display an image. There a few small dents as well as some paint flaking on the stripes which is noticeable in the pictures. Additionally, the leveling jacks have not been tested, however the hydraulic filter was recently changed.
