16" Scamp Deluxe interior (wood). Very good condition, ready to camp!
Factory Wood interior is rare. No cracks in wood, always oiled. Fiberglass has no dents. Typical small lines in Fiberglass Gelcoat. Could be polished to bring back a high luster, but I don"t have the time. No leaks, and is stored under a carport. Recently replaced wheel bearings, new water heater (same as original), new original heater done last year. New small awning replaced, same as original. Large awning in great shape! Dual LP set-up installed. Original 2-burner stove top works great, Fridge works. Needs nothing.
Everything as original, all parts replaced either from Scamp or with original appliance models. The only custom addition I made was to install a bunk bed ladder/support between the front bunks. So instead of a convertible seat, it"s a full-time bunk. It"s better for storing sleeping bags/etc., and helps support the top bunk- which is originally a little weak. My 6" son fit fine on the bottom bunk, my younger daughter on the top. This can be removed and easily returned to original with the removal of a few wood screws. The wood even matches!
Pros: Very original. In great shape. All replacement parts still available from Scamp. Everything works as it should. Great insulation. All appliances work as they should. Only weighs about 1500 lbs. Can tow easily with an SUV, compact truck, 1/2 ton. Check out scamptrailers for info. Tires have less than 500 miles on them. No rips/tears in cushions. Screens all good. Everything works! ! Has load-leveling hitch which really stabilizes the trailer on bad roads. No smoking, no funny smells. Very clean.
You would be hard-pressed to find similar age/model in better condition. I looked a long time before finding this. . about 10 years ago! I drove back to Iowa to get it.
Con: Before I owned it, a small plumbing leak caused a small hole under/near the bathroom. No structural damage. Fixed the leak years ago and patched/waterproofed the underside, as well as the inside location within a cabinet (see pics). No leaks now, and is not visible from inside.
