This 1988 Unimog Powered by Mercedes with On a Freightliner chassis with Freightliner implements is a real workhorse. The machine has been used on a farm the last few years and is in great working condition with only 986 miles. The diesel engine runs great coupled to a 16 speed transmission top speed is 50MPH (ADVERTISED WHEN NEW BUT NOT SUGGESTED) The truck is equipped with a 4 wheel drive, front end loader, backhoe and outriggers. Also included are the Hydraulic hand tools. rock hammer, drill and chainsaw. If you are not familiar with these pieces of equipment, the contract was a joint venture between Mercedes Benz Unimog and Freightliner to provide a deployable, convoy ready piece of light construction equipment that could be assigned to U.S. Army engineering divisions. About 3000 of this version were made in the mid to late 1980’s. Some of the trucks were overhauled in the 2000s, prior to being parked in a field at Red River Arsenal.
