Vehicle description
1988 Landoll/GMC Sierra 3500 4x4, US Air Force P-10 Version 3 crew cab Rescue Truck.
A rare opportunity to own a very nice utility truck. The P-10 is officially known as the AS-32P-10 Forcible Entry Rescue Truck and is used as an airfield/airport and military base light rescue vehicle by the US Air Force and US Marine Corps. The P-10 carried the fire department rescue tools, extrication and ventilation equipment, breathing apparatus, shoring equipment, medical equipment, firefighting tools, and some fire extinguishing agent. These trucks came in three versions over the span of about three production runs in 15 years. The P-10 serious of light rescue trucks began to be replaced in 2004 by the P-32 light rescue truck built on a Ford F550 chassis. The P-10 production consisted of:
P-10 Version 1: Built on the 1976-1979 Dodge Power Wagon crew cab chassis. Featured an open-top utility box and rack on the back with standard hinged compartment doors.
P-10 Version 2: Built on the 1984-1986 Chevrolet K30 crew cab chassis and manufactured by Carter Chevrolet. Featured a canopy-top utility box in the back with a covered top and standard hinged compartment doors.
P-10 Version 3: Built on the 1988-1990 GMC Sierra 3500 crew cab chassis and manufactured by Landoll Corporation. Featured an all aluminum utility box on the back with roll-up compartment doors and lighted compartments. 73 produced for the USAF and USMC.
The truck for sale is P-10v3 89L-265 and is P-10-11. This means this P-10 was the 11th P-10 out of 73 built by Landoll. It is a 1988 chassis for a 1989 USAF order, L stands for USAF fire vehicle, and 265 is it’s USAF acquisition number. The National Stock Number for the P-10 Version 3 series is 4210-01-248-9082. This P-10 served its life as Rescue 4 in the Eglin Air Force Base fire department, Valparaiso, Florida, as the airfield and air base rescue truck from it’s acceptance to service in 1989, until its retirement in 2004. Truck has a clean Arizona title. Features of this truck are as follows:
- GMC Sierra 3500 crew cab / Bonus Cab chassis, 4x4 - GM 7.4L/454ci gas engine, 290 HP - fully rebuilt Rochester Quadrajet 4 barrel carburetor - 62,8XX original miles - GM TH400 Turbo 400, 3-speed automatic transmission - NP205 transfer case - 6 new Bridgestone Duravis tires, 215 85R16, 95% tread remaining - New alternator - two new smog pumps - two Interstate green top batteries - new A6 air conditioning compressor installed and fresh A/C charge and leak check with R134, cold A/C - new plastic reservoirs for coolant and windshield washer fluid - heavy duty front extended bumper with lighted bumper guards and pull hooks on bottom - brand new, unused, Ramsey RE8000 hydraulic worm-gear winch in bumper - Fresh repaint this month with original lime yellow paint, urethane plus integrated clear coat, by Maaco - all LED lighting retrofit: headlights and all exterior lights, and all interior and instrument cluster lights - white and red interior flood lighting - new rubber floor installed in cab - GMC front and rear floor mats and steering wheel cover - later model early-1990s Chevy/GMC steering wheel - LED red flashing lights in front grill and rear of utility box - replaced seat belts in front seats - reupholstered rear bench seat with brand new seatbelts - new interior door panels on front doors. - tan dash mat on dashboard - lighted utility box with 7 roll-up door compartments, two compartments are through-box left-right compartments - forward box compartment features slide out left or right interior equipment tray - rear enclosed ladder compartment inside top of utility box above rear slide door compartment - rear step bumper with pintle hitch for towing - two spotlights with retrofitted PAR36 LED lights, need grounding adjustments is all - comes with illustrated parts manual for the P-10 specific parts of the truck - several sets of keys with GMC keychains
See pictures for all details. additional pics or information available. Sold as-is, this truck is mostly refurbished and runs well for a 33 year old vehicle. I’ve described it in as much detail as I can. Selling because we no longer have use for this vehicle in the company for fire/rescue service. Great opportunity to own a rare truck. Very few examples of the P-10 still exist in their original form: hardly any Version 1s, a few Version 2s, and a few Version 3s that are the only ones still in service.
Truck is for sale locally, so the auction could end at any time. Don’t miss your opportunity to own a rare vehicle and a great condition example of the square body GMC trucks.
