Vehicle description

Im selling a 1988 Kenworth K100 Cabover, 3406B Cat @ 350 HP, Air ride suspension, air ride cab, 10 Alum bud wheels, 24.5 rubber, Fuller RT14609A 9 speed transmission, Air ride suspension, air ride cab, Rockwell 342 Rears, P/S, A/C " Not Working". I bought this truck from the original owner back in 2016. He claims the miles are original, 409,282. The engine runs perfect, does not smoke or leak oil everywhere, pump is bone stock and has never been cranked on, transmission shifts good and does not make any abnormal noises or jump out of gear, front is is tight and drives straight down the road. The old truck runs out and handles good. This is not a truck that can be put straight to work, it will need some work before you go trucking in it. It has not been on the road working for probably 8-10 years and it will need to be towed or hauled home. Not that the truck might not make it home, it"s just not wise to take off on a long trip on something that has been worked for that long. He did start the truck from time to time and move it around. I put newer steer tires on it that are in good shape, the rear tires have good tread but are old and need to be replaced. The truck holds air and does not have any air leaks, but the air bags are old and will need to be replaced, the bushings in the torsion bars will need to be replaced, the brake shoes are old and cracking, so will need new brakes all the way around. The brakes do work and will stop you, but the brake pedal needs to be oiled up a bit. It comes up, but you have to take your foot and pull it the rest of the way up. I Had it freed up perfect a couple years ago, but is starting too stiffen up again. The shifter cables are getting pretty stiff, you can shift it as it is, but would need new cables if you run it. The air lines don"t look bad from what I can see. The interior is all original, in good shape and pretty clean. It could use a new mattress, a couple of seats, and replace the carpet in the floor boards. All the main gauges work except the fuel gauge. I have not checked the rear end temp gauges and the trans temp gauge. It has a power passenger side window and m,error, they both work, the interior lights work, all the lights work, wipers work, everything seems to work on the old truck expect the blower motor for the heat and A/C. The paint is original and 30 years old and is what it is. I rubbed on it in a couple places and I think someone that knows how to buff could make it shine pretty good. The previous owner spray painted over his names and DOT numbers on the cab. The cab is very straight, not all beat up or busted up, cab jack works well, The structure in under the cab and cab hinges look good, they are not busted up or had any repairs that I can see. The frame is very clean and not ate up in corrosion. This is a solid original old truck that has not been chopped on or butchered up, It"s a perfect candidate to restore and put back to work. I might have delivery available for $3.00 a loaded mile. The truck can sit here for 30 days once paid for, but needs to be gone after that. If you have any questions , feel free to email me.
