NO RESERVE
This is NOT a Gov Planet truck, and does not have a restricted title. It has been in civilian hands since the early 90"s, and should not have an issue with registration. It is your responsibility to check in your state but I can provide a picture of the title on request.
This 1987 HMMWV has a full drivetrain swap from what I believe was a 1998 2500 Suburban. I did not do the swap initially but I finished things up. The transmission is a 4L80E overdrive trans with a new (reman) HD261 manual shift transfer case. This is the ideal transfer case swap as it allows 2wd as well as 4wd and has a shift lever, not electronic shifting like many of the late model cases. It comes in a base model GMC dually and is a heavy duty case. The complete harness is from Howe engineering and is a stand alone unit. We can do everything from a Duramax swap to a gas motor in our shop and I can honestly say I prefer the gas trucks. They are crazy fast and fun to drive while being very cheap to maintain. I had custom drive shafts made and mounted an aluminum radiator up front with dual electric cooling fans. There is an auxiliary cooler up front as well. The portal boxes were completely gone through and all seals replaced. One of the passenger side ball joints up front just went out so we did both ball joints and a complete new CV shaft as well. The truck has autometer gauges and a modern shifter. The rear third member was just rebuilt with new gears, bearings, and a Detroit locker. The front has an ARB locker, but is not hooked up to an air tank yet. The stainless steel braided line comes out right in front of the shifter. The seats have our custom seat bases, are all leather with heat (not hooked up) and seat sliders on all 4. It has our aluminum roof with carpet as well so it is not too loud in the rain. We also added our engine cover which gives a carpeted compartment on top to throw your wallett or phone while driving. It is a really nice touch. The front fenders were clearanced for larger tires. The LED front lights have integrated blinkers and marker lights keeping it street legal. We added a new set of surplus seat belts so they all pull in and out like they should. It does come with a set of soft doors but some of the windows need a new zipper. ( like 99% of the doors out there) There is a custom fuel cell in back that was made to use the factory fuel pump and sending unit that came with that motor. The tires are 39" BFG race tires ($500 each) and it comes with a spare tire but no wheel. The fake bead lock rings were made in our shop and give it a cool touch. The truck was put together in our shop at www.myherocustoms.com by folks that know and worked on the HMMWV in the military. I am a partner in the company and this is one of my personal trucks. I have wayyyyy to many and need to get rid of a few. It is located in Prescott AZ. The truck is 3x as powerful as a stock HMMWV and will go 80mph down the freeway without complication. I have not driven it more than 1.5 hours away to Sedona so if you plan to drive farther than that do so at your own risk. Personally if you want to take it to Georgia, I would trailer it. It has dual exhaust and sounds good but is 1/2 as loud as a typical HMMWV from inside the cab. If you are looking for a 2x a year truck to beat around in, buy a stock one. If you actually want to drive your HMMWV, this IS your truck. I pick my kids up from school in it and I am the coolest Dad in town. I let folks borrow it all the time for military fund raisers and parades. If you can drive a suburban, you can drive this truck. Be ready to be in a bunch of photos, facebook posts, snap chat, etc because you can"t drive down the street without being surrounded by people taking pics.
