Vehicle description
This RV runs great and is ready to go. Whomever purchases this RV needs to know that it is a vintage-type gem, but it needs constant TLC - it is old and needs to have the seams waterproofed regularly etc. . I did not have time to complete the overhaul. The inside is re-done and the outside has a lot of work left. All of the painting, adding of shelving etc. .I did on my own. It is not a professional job but a good ameateur job. The mechanical, electrical and plumbing things were all done professionally. I recently drove this and camped from Charlotte, NC to Los Angeles and back as well as other cross-state trips. There are no leaks.
This Toyota runs wonderfully! Same mechanic since 1987. In fact, he bought it from the original owner and I bought it a year and a half ago from him. Here are the things that were done:
2016-2017. New cab air conditioner; new alternator; new cabin electrical inverter; new hot water heater; rebuilt bunk are (I did that - it is good but not professional), new shower (I did this) new cabin battery; new main battery; new cabin DC fuses; new sewage pipes and valves; new steering arms; new catalytic converter, new propane heater; new TV/DVD, new refrigerator and microwave.
2015-2016. New hardwood floor (good job but not professional) new tires; new front and rear brakes; soft pack tranny; complete engine valve job; timing; water pump; new hoses; new belts; new fresh water pump.
ISSUES: I love how this runs. But again, several times a year it needs some tweaking. I know it is going to need a new muffler at some point and I would repace the shocks in the next couple of years if I were doing a lot of camping. The RV had lots of leaks that I tracked down, repaired and eliminated. But again, at this age, it needs the seams check a couple times a year. The following do not work
1. Original furnace removed 2. Cruise control does not work 3. Wiper fluid pump does not work 4. Muffler will need to be replaced 5. CO2 sensor under hood needs to be replaced 6. Some exterior vinyl covers need replacing. I"ve made a temporary fix (long term for me, actually!) on the electrical cover 7. There was an awning but it came off. The frame was installed years ago incorrectly and left some holes on the passenger side that I"ve covered. It"s ugly but it works. 8. Bunk window (above cab) was leaking. My plan was to take it out and re-do the gasket. But I don"t have time. Again, I water proofed it big time but it"s ugly (see outside picture) yet it works.
