you are looking at a good looking, great running RETIRED 1987 FED MOTORS PUMP TRUCK. formally owned by the ANNE ARUNDEL FIRE DEPARTMENT. powered by the ever dependable 60 series diesel manufactured by DETROIT( not sure what size motor, there are no labels i can see), the truck runs down the road with no issues. we originally bought this and a 1991 federal 125 ft ladder truck not running and planned to part them out and scrap them. after a little playing around, we put some charged batteries to it and she fired right up. this truck only has 78k miles on. the motor runs great and the transmission shifts smooth, we had her on the road yesterday and took it up to 70 mph with ease. the tires are in great shape and the air brakes perform without issue.
the exterior as you can see is in great shape. she could use a good cleaning but overall the body has a nice shine to it(please see the pictures and video). there are no major dings or dents. the stainless steel is in great shape. the county did spray paint over the department name per protocol. the water pump controls all seem to be in order and shows that it has vacuum. there isn"t much i more i can tell you about that. i have no experience on how to operate this system and have no way of testing it. all the tool boxes are in great shape and function as they should. the aluminum wheels are in great shape and have a nice shine to them.
the interior as you can see is in nice shape. the leather looks good. the diamond plate floor is clean. all the gauges are in working order except for trans temp (not sure if its frozen or unplugged). horn and siren work without issue (see video). some of the switches i am unfamiliar with as i have said i have no real experience with fire trucks. i don"t want to play with something and do something wrong.
so whether you are looking for a project, a toy or something to brake down for recycling purposes. this could be the truck for you.
