1986 Toyota Turbo 4x4 Pickup Truck.
This is a 1986 original factory turbo Toyota pickup truck that has been completely restored with all original Toyota parts and some upgraded improvements over stock. This restoration was done to build a reliable off-road truck with longevity in mind, but a the same time having the highest amount of performance. The body and bed were completely stripped and reworked (additional pictures of the restoration are available). Once primed the color chosen was the 2017 Toyota "Quicksand" tan. Simultaneously, The engine was sent to one of the top Toyota Engine builders; Jim Putney of 22RE Performance in Chico, CA. Jim is known throughout the Toyota world for quality engine builds and has supplied engines for the competitors of the Baja 1000 and King of the Hammers. The turbo is an upgraded Garret CT25 turbo and is custom built by Performance Techniques out of Los Angles, CA with billet compressor wheel and ceramic ball bearings. A custom black anodized Bell intercooler was installed with handmade aluminum intercooler and a Turbosmart blow-off valve added additional power that keeps the engine running at safe operating temperatures with lower compression surge on the turbo.
This truck came from the factory with the highly sought after gear driven R151F Transmission. The Original Transmission was sent to Marlin Crawler in Fresno, CA for a complete rebuild. The transmission was rebuilt with all new Koyso bearings, Synchros and billet shift forks for all gears including reverse. The Marlin Crawler short throw shifter kit was also added to improve shifting engagement and driving performance. A high performance ACT clutch and pressure plate were used to handle the increased engine performance. The Transfer case received the same treatment with upgraded Crawler gears for low range. The rear and front differential were also sent to Marlin Crawler for a complete rebuild. A new gear ratio of 4:88:1 was selected to match the factory ratio on 33" tires. ARB air lockers were added front and rear for added off-road reliability.
The interior was brought back to life with hard to find OEM sourced parts to replace the non-functioning or worn out components. The interior has been redone with new factory carpet, new dash pad, air/heater vents, new turbo instrument cluster, front windshield replaced, original rear sliding window, new weatherstripping around windows and doors and upgraded SR5 factory bucket seats. The bed of the truck was been sprayed with Line-X bed liner for protection.
This truck was build for off-roading is has never seen. This truck only has approx. 5,000 miles on the engine since it was rebuilt which has been spent on local gravel, paved roads and some mountain roads. If you are looking for the one of a kind well-build old school Toyota truck, than this is it!
Engine: Stage 4 Blueprinted 22RTE Engine build with CNC ported head finished and hand polished. 8.5/1 compression. Custom made black anodized intercooler with custom bent and welded aluminum intercooler pipe. .272 turbo cam grind on camshaft.

all threads are chased and cleaned
crankshaft is reground (.25 or .50mm) and micro-polished then zero balanced.
Eagle connecting Rods- big and small ends are resized, and rods are balanced
new wrist pin bushings installed and sized to the specific wrist pins in the piston set
Race Tech Forged pistons and wrist pins
