Vehicle description
Camping season is fast approaching and before you know it, hunting season will be upon us. Just in time for your outdoor fun, I have for your consideration:
1986 Fleetwood Terry Taurus 28" Camper / Travel Trailer
Features: Dual Entry / Exit (Forward Living Area / Rear Bath) Rooftop A/C Kitchen Dinette (Converts to sleeping area) Sink / Oven / Refrigerator / Freezer 4 Burner Stove Heater 2 Single Beds (side by side towards rear in front of bathroom) Front Sofa (Additional Sleeping) Bathtub Shower Combo Toilet Bath Sink 3 Roof Vents
Awning Plenty of Cabinet Space 4 Manual Hydraulic Jacks Roof Antenna Electronic Control Center Heavy Duty Hitch (for tow vehicle)
I have owned this trailer for several years and aside from a ding or two and some paint peeling in the accent stripes this camper / trailer is in excellent condition.
I exclusively used this camping trailer for storage of some items when my shoe store closed. Now that most of it has been moved out, it is time for this beauty to find a nice spot nestled in the woods to provide some outdoor enjoyment.
Q&A
(1) How is the frame. Is there rust? Is it sturdy? There is some rust on the frame consistent with a vehicle this age. Nothing a wire brush and some Rustoleum cannot handle.
(2) Are there any cracks in the exterior that have been repaired. Are there any leaks, even if minor?
There does appear to have been some additional sealant applied around the windows at some point in time. Since owning this camper I have not noticed any leaks.
(3) What shape is the:electrical system in?
All interior lights work, outlets work, exhaust fan works. Exterior lights other than driving lights are working. Driving lights should not be an issue, they were working when I purchased the trailer so other than possibly a burnt out bulb I do not see any issues here.
( 4) propane system in?
If they are anything like the tanks on a grill, I am sure they will need to be replaced or re-certified due to their age. At the time of purchase, the stove and heater were in working order.
(5) water system in?
At time of purchase all was working well and has since been winterized
(6) size of the tanks)
Going to need to find out for you
(7) awning in?
Since purchase it has been rolled up and where it is parked, I cannot unroll it to see its current condition.
(8) tires in?
Great tread with no signs of dry rot. Weight has been off them since purchase (jacks supporting trailer). Not sure if they should be replaced just for safety sake due to age but this can be addressed if needed.
(9) bathroom in?
Looks good and functioning, Second entry / exit located is in bathroom. Needs shower curtain.
(10) AC and heater in?
Both working at time of purchase. AC has been utilized of and on while working in trailer since purchased.
