The trailer tows well and has many optional features, including:
Power tongue lift works
Retractable Stabilizer Jacks (4) work (one bent )
Just towed 256 miles. It tows great at 63 mph with a Chevy 1500. With stabilizer bar hitch. The electric brakes work fine.
Seal around one window is missing and some body molding seals need to be replaced.
The sub-floor is soft in front of door.
Tile in Kitchen, carpet is original and needs replaced.
The refrigerator works with electricity have not tried the propane. I don"t know how to turn it on, so don"t expect it to work.
The A/C unit on the roof works and blows cold air but needs serviced.
Note: the Roof looks to have been sealed many times and still leaks. Inside the ceiling panels have been wet or are wet in places. I have not tried the stove but looks to be all there. Tires have plenty of tread but are old.
This trailer is not Fiberglass. It looks like it but in the mid 1980s Airstream created this new Argosy trailer body which had a squarish looking bonded aluminum sidewall skin made from a special alloy and tension leveled for smoothness. The skin was then permanently bonded to the structural cage with a proven space age adhesive and painted beige, making it look like fiberglass. These square Argosy trailers where produced through 1988, making this trailer just as classic as the silver ones of the 1950s were and still are. This trailer will outlast all fiberglass trailers by decades and will quickly become a highly sought after collectible as one of Airstreams many innovations. This camper is good condition to soon to be 32 years old. If you have any questions please ask. Would make a great concessions trailer or food truck. Is for sale locally and auction may end early.
