Vehicle description
1985 Chevrolet M1010 CUCV Ambulance K30 D30 1 1/4 Ton Truck 4x4 41k miles 6.2L J-series non-emissions diesel V-8 TH400 NP208 4.56 gears Dana 60 w/ Warn Hubs 14 Bolt w/ Detroit Locker 4" Suspension Lift 37x12.50r16.5 HUMVEE tires 16.5" steel wheels Converted to 12v from 24v
The rear ambulance body is aluminum. Dimensions of the ambulance body - 107" long, 75" wide, 65" high.
This M1010 was decommissioned in Florida and was driven to Texas where it required a new NP208 transfer case upon arrival. The truck was converted to 12v from 24v before the trip from Florida. And converted to a manual glow plug switch to improve reliability. Truck starts right up and runs surprisingly well for a 6.2L diesel. Transmission and TC both shift. Comes with the original service manual.
The contents of the ambulance were not present at the time of the purchase in Florida. As you can see from the picture, the Ambulance is missing the patient compartment and A/C unit. The truck still retains the brackets on the motor to add an A/C compressor but an easier fix is to add a window A/C unit to the box from Home Depot or Lowes with an inverter. Truck has not been beaten or off-roaded and the ambulance body is un-dented. The HUMVEE tires are good for dirt but if you wanted to put thousands of highway miles on the truck, I would add a new set of 37s.
Exert from the Olive-Drab.com - M1010 CUCV Ambulance has the same cab and chassis as the M1008 cargo truck, but with an aluminum ambulance body. The M1010 Truck, Ambulance, Tactical, 1 1/4 Ton, 4x4 (NSN 2310-01-123-2666) differs from other Chevrolet CUCV models by having the ambulance body, heater and air conditioning in patient compartment, a spotlight, patient compartment dome light and focus lights, Gas-Particulate Filter Unit (GPFU), radio and antenna mounting, and a 200 amp alternator to provide additional power for the extra electrical loads.
Truck is perfect to convert to an overland camper, bug out or hunting vehicle.
Has clear Texas title.
