Vehicle description
At only 33,002 miles, the engine has served one fire department since 1985. It has been well maintained and easily our engine requiring the least repair for its entire service. It was taken out of service for a new engine replacement process and has been stored in shelter/bay its entire life unless out fighting fire like a beast.
Engine: Detroit Diesel 6V-92TA (Ser-6VF12757A) Motor and transmission serviced and maintenanced regularly by a professional service. Have replaced the radiator this year. Within last year has had an occasional shutdown while at idle and then restarts fine.
Transmission: Allison HT-740 4 speed automatic (I can find the axle ratio if someone needs but I can assure after driving it for a 29 year career, it pulls WNC mountains nicely. Low torque feel and steady.
Wheels: Alcoa rims, Dual wheels, part number 883112 in good shape, still sell for around $500 each new. Alcoa front rims. Rear tires Goodyear G164 RTD 11R22.5, really good tread left. Front, KELLY KLH with good tread left.
Pump: Hale 2 stage QF125-21, this is a 1,250 pump that has ALWAYS exceeded annual service testing specifications. Annual change of 90W in pump gear case. Have personally replaced packing many years ago, currently good. Replaced a seal kit in the VPS shifter 3 months ago along with basic packing adjustments and general service.
Tank: 1,500 gallons, tank has a jet dump and gravity dump system
Auto chains: Rotogrip automatic chains, generally good up to about 6" of snow and they have worked well.
General interior: Seats in good condition, side panels interior fair, floor liner wear spots, lap belts, new key switch.
Batteries: Dual banks operated by a Cole Hersee switch in floorboard
Use as a fire apparatus, water tender, replace the body/tank with a flatbed and sell all the scrap or whatever use you have. Quite a bit of part value in engine, tran, tires, rims etc.
