1985 VW based Bombardier Iltis one of approximately 2,500 military-spec examples built for the Canadian Armed Forces at the Bombardier plant in Valcourt, Quebec, and was imported to Missouri by the seller this year (2019) from Winnipeg, Canada. Power is sent from a water-cooled 1.7L inline-four through a 4-speed manual gearbox to a 4WD system featuring an ultra-low gear and rear differential locker. Carburetor rebuild and valve cover gasket replacement performed in 2019. This Type 183 Iltis with a 10ft RT524 radio antenna, canvas top and soft doors, accessories, plus many extra spare parts and a clean Missouri title in the seller’s name.

The water-cooled 1.7L inline-four is linked to a 4-speed manual gearbox and was factory-rated at 74 horsepower when new. The 24-volt electrical system uses two 12-volt batteries in tandem. The 4WD system is based around components from the Audi 100 and features an additional ultra-low gear as well as a locking rear differential.
