This is a 1985 AM General HMMWV (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle), also known as the M998 HUMVEE Hummer, or H1. The H1 was developed by AM General and intended for use by the US Military. 1985 is the first year for the Hummer. It is powered by a 6.2L Detroit Diesel V8 engine developed by General Motors along with a 3-Speed automatic transmission, and full time four wheel drive.
This Hummer, along with any other Hummer produced before the 1992 model year was originally produced for Military use. Since being removed from active duty use, it has been upgraded with more comfortable padded seats including seat belts for each passenger, a Grant GT steering wheel, it has received a full body paint job in red with a custom built color matched center console complete with a stereo system, speakers, and cup holders for each passenger. It’s got diamond plating for the rear truck bed/cargo area, and a matching license plate bracket with diamond plating. It has metal doors with a removable soft top, windows and body colored roll bars. It has also been outfitted with a dig-out kit, 10,000lb springs, and the civilian gear reduction kit. This H1 is street legal with working headlights, taillights, turn signals, windshield wipers, rear view mirrors and license plate light. This is the ultimate in off-road performance. You can literally go anywhere with this Hummer with it"s huge Goodyear Wrangler off-road military spec tires with plenty of life left in them.
This particular Hummer, along with any other military spec early production Hummer does not have a regular 17-digit VIN, instead it has a serial number. Also, it does not have a standard 6-digit odometer, instead it has a 5 digit odometer. Due to these two factors, we cannot provide you with verifiable exact miles. The odometer currently reads 300, but the exact miles is unknown. Also, because of the lack of a 17-digit VIN, it makes it impossible to obtain a Carfax, Autocheck, or any other VIN based vehicle history report on this vehicle. Additionally, it makes it impossible to provide you with any official "Book-Sheet" such as an NADA, or a KBB book value. Lastly, we do not offer any kind of in-house financing, or indirect lending through our dealership. Because of the nature of the VIN and odometer of this vehicle, it may be difficult for you to obtain financing through a traditional bank or credit union.
