1985 AM General HMMWV Humvee M998.
I have a 1985 AM General HMMWV (HUMVEE) for sale. This HMMWV originally came from Fort Bragg, NC and was surplussed to the Fayetteville, NC Police Department to help with natural disasters and hurricane work. I purchased it directly from FPD and have gone through it COMPLETELY. I have not done anything cosmetic as I had not settled on a color scheme, 2 vs 4 door, or a winch on it yet. I will leave it up to the next owner to make those decisions. The BEST part, and what I feel makes my HMMWV different from the countless other surplus’s units on the market is it has been gone through with a fine tooth comb and completely serviced. Not just had an oil change and called “serviced”. It takes a lot of time to go through each portal axle, transfer case, transmission, radiator, brakes, ect.
She was reset at the AM General factory in 2003 and had undercarriage coating applied by GM. (They use Zeibart)

*Full Fluids & Filters ($1500 Value) If you think my value is off, please try to have a shop change every single filter & fluid for any less. It takes 2 hours per portal axle to do it right!
4 wheels removed, pressure washed & degreased, valve seals checked, and psi set.
4 Portal axles drained, spindle nuts checked, resealed, filled with MobilLube HD 80w90 gear oil.
Transfer case drained and refilled with Carquest HD DexIII fluid.
Transmission drained and refilled with Carquest HD DexIII fluid.
Power steering drained and refilled with Carquest HD DexIII.
Coolant flushed 3 times until all sediment and particles flushed out. Refilled with Carquest ELC 150k fluid to a 40/60 ratio.
Oil drained and refilled with Mobil Super 1300 15w40 and new AM General filter.
Radiator fins combed best possible manner, on any HMMWV due to the horrible placement of radiator fins they inevitably get damaged during service.
Fuel tank drained, cleaned, and resealed.
All 3 fuel filters replaced.
Air filter replaced.
Various hoses and belts replaced in engine bay.
Full engine bay degrease, sorted, and various cables zip tied and properly affixed.
All dash wiring, bulbs, gauges, ect has been gone through. Every connection behind dash has been cleaned, dielectric greased, and replaced where necessary.
All exterior bulbs replaced.
I have about 35 hours into going through every inch of this truck. Cosmetically she still looks surplus, original, worn, beat up, ect. However mechanically she is without fault. This is your chance to get a fully serviced HMMWV with clean and clear title in hand for a FAIR price.
