Vehicle description
This is a 1984 Airstream 310. I lived in it for 3 years while trying to fix it up, but the engine blew when driving it from Texas to Maine due to overheating. I don"t have enough money to continue with the engine repair so I want it to go to a good home where it will be treated with the care it deserves. I repeate, the engine IS blown, and will need to be replaced. Being sold AS-IS. It is currently sitting in Virginia and transporting it is buyer"s responsibility.
In the past 3 years, the following has been repaired/replaced:
Engine/Mechanical:
- - - -
+ New cap and rotor
+ New spark plugs
+ New alternator
+ New starter
+ New belts
+ New washer fluid motor
+ New coolant pump
+ New coolant reservoir
+ New gauges (some still don"t work, so not sure what issue is)
+ New blinker assembly
+ Installed electric pump and siwtch to help with vapor lock/hesitation issues that seemed to never go away (I believe this was an issue with the P-30 chasis design in general).
+ Installed new horn. The old horn did work, but in an effort to fix it, I made it soundless. I believe it just needs to be adjusted by a professional.
Exterior:
- - - - -
+ New fuel intake hose
+ Sand blasted several rusted spots and painted with rustoleum.
+ Patched a few holes caused from rust.
+ New weepers on windows
+ Serviced generator (in working condition)
+ New air compressor
+ New front suspension air bags
+ New main entrance door handle (conversion to modern type RV door handle design).
+ Roof a/c"s have been serviced yearly since I have had it.
Interior:
- - - - -
+ New fridge
+ New on demand water heater
+ New microwave
+ New cabinets above fridge
+ New radio
+ New bench/storage space
+ Bunk bed system in backing
+ New ac/dc converter
+ New sink faucet
+ Fixed leaking/busted pipes
+ New shower faucet
+ New exhaust fans
+ New toilet
+ Several new light fixtures
Known areas that need improvement (besides engine):
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
- furnace removed (It was damaged, I lived in Texas and it wasn"t needed and preferred to have the space for storage)
- sub-flooring and flooring needs to be replaced.
- passenger side seat backing is broken and doesn"t stay in place.
- seat motors do not operate as intended.
- Fresh water tank was removed for additional storage.
- Windshield wiper motors need to be replaced. (Driver side stopped working recently, passenger side only works on high setting)
- Engine a/c doesn"t work. (I think it just needs to be re-pressurized. It seems to have lost its vacuum)
- Stove exhaust fan recently stopped working
- water heater needs a section of copper pipe reaplced. I put a temporary workaround (using rubber hoses).
