You are looking at a M936 6x6 Military wrecker made by AM General. The truck was made in 1983 and updated over the years with a final full reset/rebuild in the late 2000"s. It was released from military service and issued to the Indianapolis Airport authority in 2009. The truck has been stored inside a hanger until this year and maintained by the airport ground crew.
The truck is absolutely mint! No leaks and everything works. It"s the "unicorn" of military surplus. It even has a clean Indiana title.
This truck received the rare auto throttle upgrade that kicks in when the PTO is engaged. The door frame shows multiple MWOs (upgrades) that were installed. All the warning tags for ABS use and more are still in place. All tires are 99% tread with casting marks. While in service under the Indianapolis Airport Authority, it was mandatory their equipment be leak free for safety reasons. This wrecker wasn"t used often but was on the maintenance roster so it was inspected and serviced.
The truck has the Cummins 250 engine and Allison 5 speed automatic transmission with a high/low transfer case. It"s equipped with a 20,000 lb front winch and 40,000 lb rear winch. The crane is rated for 10,000 lbs and can move near 360 degrees safely.
