Vehicle description
Hello,
We are selling our 1982 Travco (Dodge), manufactured by Foretravel on a Roadmaster Chassis. 33 footer. Non-Smoker, no smells.
-Detroit Diesel "Fuel Pincher" motor, 64,000 miles
-Allison 4 Spd Auto Transmission
-Kohler propane generator
-2 AC units -Hydraulic Leveling Jacks (3 work, 1 has a ground wire cut so it won"t move)
-Other features: Central vacuum, separate toilet/tub/shower, queen bed (new), couch into twin, AC fridge/freezer, every window has an awning that is in perfect condition, 8 track.
These are great motorhomes because they are fiberglass construction. That means no leaky roof to deal with. I have gone over the exterior and re-sealed all bolts and vents mounted to roof. I have re-caulked at the windows and doors.
We bought this motorhome last year in Idaho. Drove like a champ all the way home and averaged a little above 10 mpg. The previous owners appeared to have taken very good care of it and it looks to have had recent system upgrades because the pump, furnace, and water heater look barely used. I also took it in to have the propane system leak tested and all equipment run. Propane system now has a new regulator and all system functioning. It is a 1982 so it is not in showroom condition but it is comfortable and useable for many good miles and family fun.
We are selling because since buying it we have moved and are adding another kid to the family. At this point we are not ready to use and would rather it get out there for some road time. It is an awesome throw back and deserves to be used.
Travco was a family manufacturer but sold to Dodge in the 1960s. During the economic crisis of the 1970s Dodge was told to get rid of their RV division. Foretravel bought the Travco brand in the early 1980s.
