Vehicle description
1979 Chevy Camaro Pro-ET Drag Car
Consistent Low 11 second car.
This would be ideal for anyone looking to get into and learn about drag racing, or someone looking to upgrade cars. Both of my sons learned how to race in this car and were successful in their classes with it. We have owned it for 15 years. All body work was done 14 years ago, and the firewall and engine were set back at this time as well. Weld Racing wheels, the 29.5x13.5x15 Mickey Thompson E/T slicks are like new and have less than 5 passes on them, and will include a brand new set of BF Goodrich front tires as well.
Engine: firewall and engine set back 12”, Half poured with hard-block, 400 SBC 2 bolt ARP main studs, bored .030”. Forged steel Eagle crank, Eagle H-beam rods, forged 13:1 pistons, steel RHS heads, Comp solid roller cam 4-7 swap, Comp solid roller lifters, Comp pushrods, Scorpion roller rockers. Hurricane intake, 850 Holley, big Mallory fuel pump, Milodon oil pan and pump, MSD distributor, MSD 7AL3 ignition, ARP head bolts, Electric fan and water pump drive, line lock, removable steering wheel. ENGINE FRESHLY REBUILT WITH LESS THAN 20 PASSES ON IT.
Transmission: Aluminum powerglide, BTE input shaft, steel clutch hub, deep oil pan, Coan transbrake valvebody, transmission shield, flexplate shield, 10” Redneck Racing 5700 rpm stall torque converter. 1.76-1 first gear. TRANSMISSION REUBILT AT SAME TIME AS MOTOR, LESS THAN 20 PASSES ON IT.
Rear end: Freshly built 9” Ford rear end with 4.56 gears, Moser axles, Strange carrier and solid spool, ladder bar rear suspension, QA1 coil-over shocks. LESS THAN 5 PASSES ON REAR END.
Will consider selling turn key or parting out. Delivery is negotiable.
