Vehicle description
1978 Kit Companion Travel Trailer! 18 ft. Dinette, RV Three Quarter size bed, Shower, Toilet, Two sinks, Oven, Stove, Fridge. Signs of wear, this trailer has seen leaks.
Purchased in Lander, Wyoming less than a year ago.
Wonderfully authentic vintage exterior.
Imperfect, an eclectic dollhouse of sorts.
Gross Weight 3600 pounds. I"ve towed it cross-country with a Tacoma V6. Tandem axle! Original hubcabs. New tires, bearings packed in January 2021.
All exterior running lights except for two are functional.
Roof sealed in May 2021.
New PEX plumbing. New grey water and black water tanks. New three quarter size tub.
New pressure regulator. Sanitized 30 gallon freshwater tank. (Needs to be hooked up) Jalousie windows.
Working 30 Amp Electric. Max load is approx 1000 watts for this baby.
The electric fridge works! Needs touch up enamel paint.
Four burner Magic Chef stove plus oven. This all works! Oven works once hooked up.
New LED warm-white lightbulbs.
Real oak paneling.
New fun chintzy era-appropriate flooring.
Custom built bed system with 5 inch memory foam cushion for a 48"X 75" RV three quarter bed. Locking door with new lock and keys.
What"s still unfinished:
* Needs new dinette cushions.
* Needs propane tank(s). Comes with original dual regulator.
* Propane lines need to be professionally tested. Uncertain about the original propane heater. I"ve used a 500 watt space heater and it"s been excellent for springtime.
* I removed the original 1978 6 gallon propane water heater. Propane is unattached. You install new water heater, these are priced at around 400 plus install if you"re going with an identical style replacement.
* There is a 30 gallon fresh water tank that I removed and sanitized. It needs to be hooked up. Simple, requires 10 dollars in parts.
* Needs a 12v marine battery or two to power the water pump, vent fan, and overhead fluorescent lights.
* A few interior and exterior trim details could certainly be reworked. Always room for improvement.
* There"s an overhead restroom light on the 12V system that needs to be replaced.
* The outdoor storage compartment needs to be refinished.
* There"s a stove exterior vent that needs to be replaced.
