1978 GMC Royale 26" Motorhome Top of the line model offered by GMC. The ‘Royale’ features a hand-crafted interior by Coachmen, specifically designed for GMC. Real wood cabinetry was used and not Formica as found on most factory GMC’s. Has the powerful original Oldsmobile V8 and front wheel drive configuration. One of the few motorhomes to have gained the distinction of being a ‘Classic’ and will continue to appreciate in value over time. GMC Motorhomes are renowned for their wonderful air suspension, low floor height, low center of gravity, modern yet retro aesthetics, easy parts availability, many available upgrades, a cult following, and a massive on and offline community which is second to none. Fantastic panoramic view glass area in the cockpit give an unparalleled view of your travel. A massive back glass for enjoying the scenery while eating, riding or resting from the rear seats. This big back glass also allows for viewing while backing as well, which is rare in most motorhomes. Full kitchen includes a built-in microwave, multi shelf sliding pantry, refrigerator, stove, etc. Side bathroom configuration, with lots of hidden storage. Main living area features a sofa which converts for sleeping, and two stable swivel armchairs with a folding table that tucks away nicely for extra space when not required. Oldsmobile Toronado plush leather front bucket seats. Both seats are electric. Driver seat material is worn and could use a slip cover or some upholstery. Passenger seat is nice. Speedometer has recently been changed because the original was very noisy. Combined odometer reading is very low and well below 40k miles! Hall closet has a hidden security compartment for your valuables. Air suspension compressor works and is currently arranged to manually monitor the suspension. Onan 6000kw onboard slide out generator works well. Trailer receptacle. Dual gas tanks with gauges. Rear curtains and boxed mini blinds in the front. Fridge and can opener. Roof and dash a/c are in place, but not currently operating. This is a California vehicle with a solid frame. Elastomeric roof coating. Roof vent/fan. Has a very strong drivetrain. Handles well at speed. Brakes operate as intended. Camaro steering wheel. Expect a Motorhome you can be proud of, enjoy, and attract attention driving around. Please don"t expect a brand new, fully restored motorhome. It is not perfect, and the price reflects this. Please feel free to inspect in advance. I would appreciate it. This Motorhome comes with a large case of books and info on the vehicle, showing the care this Motorhome has received during its lifetime and long-term ownership; solid, without rust. GMC Motorhomes are the Rolls Royce of coaches for good reason. This particular one is an exceptional value for what you receive.
