Vehicle description
1977 Dodge Travco Motorhome- Original Condition Rare, AMAZING-condition Model 270 Elite This is a one-family owned RV, custom ordered and built for the Smith family in 1977, impeccably cared-for and maintained, and stored indoors when not in use. It has a 1970"s retro, very cool look and feel! Only 136k original miles! The owners used this for their annual, summer vacation from southern Oregon to the Palm Springs, CA area. Once back home, Mr. Smith performed the recommended maintenance and stored this motorhome indoors until the next year’s trip. THIS IS REALLY A RARE VINTAGE FIND! This motorhome comes complete with on-board Onan generator, roof-top Air Conditioner; and large fridge/freezer. This exceptional RV is offered up by the Smith family, and comes with a lot of the original paperwork including the Travco Owner"s Manual, Travco sales brochures, component owner"s manuals (Onan, Dometic, Coleman, etc.), and more. CONDITION: NO LEAKS! EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION INSIDE AND OUT (especially for 43 years old). We have performed a Technician Checklist on all systems and everything works (see more information below under DETAILS)! INTERIOR: In brochures for this particular year and model, Travco boasted, “deluxe living… with wide aisle roominess, two built in pantry cabinets, wardrobe closet," along with other features, which included, "Rich Heritage Walnut Décor," and "Warm, Autumn Rust furniture, fabrics and carpeting." EXTERIOR: Molded fiberglass exterior for easy cleaning and low maintenance. The roof has never leaked. The two windshields have cracks. They are functional as-is, as the cracks do not impair direct-ahead, driving vision. The owner recently obtained a quote to replace both from "RV Glass Solutions" in Coburg, OR, $1,880. There are a few dings/rubs in the body (as would be expected in an RV that was driven and used), but no major damage or accidents. ENGINE: Runs and drives GREAT!. It starts right up every time. IMPORTANT : we had a local auto shop perform a compression test and they reported weak cylinder compression (close to 125 lbs in 6 cylinders and less than 100 lbs in 2 cylinders). So, although it runs and drives nicely, it may need a rebuild (or replacement). The same, local shop has a used, replacement motor for sale, $1,000, and they will do the swap for an additional $3,000 labor. Feel free to contact us for more information (contact info below). One Owner 135,951 Original Miles TIRES: Tires have very good (like new) tread and hold air perfectly, but show small, hairline cracks on the sidewalls; therefore, we recommend buyer has tires inspected and/or replaced before any major driving. CHASSIS & SPECS: This legendary RV is built atop the M-500 Dodge chassis. Length 27", Width 8", Interior Height 6"-4". Weight 14,500 lbs. QUALITY CONSTRUCTION: The high-integrity construction was unique to Travco when this motorhome was produced. Described in their literature as the following: "Travco builds up a rugged rib cage of welded steel hat sections, which is welded to steel outriggers on the chassis. A tough, molded fiberglass body shell is permanently bonded onto the rib cage with more than 150 fiberglass strips, to create an integral unitized body… no other motorhome uses this type of steel-and-fiberglass construction, which provides strength, durability and rigidity and offers exceptional protection for driver and passengers." Not to mention they"ve lasted a LOT longer than other RV company"s methods! TITLE: Good title, guaranteed free from any liens and/or encumbrances. TERMS (the "FINE PRINT"): Buyer to perform all due diligence prior to bidding. See "Details" below for additional information. This RV is sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS, and NO WARRANTY. Buyer responsible to remove from premises in a timely manner. Details Comes fully equipped and it is self-contained, which means everything runs off the coach: whether the 12Volt RV deep-cycle battery, on-board generator (starts with a push of a button), propane, gas, or shore power (when you’re plugged in).
