Vehicle description
Chinook Camper Van RV Class B 20ft
This amazing camper van is a classic 1977. It"s been very well cared for and has a lot of updates including a NEW Chevy G30 400 Engine as of about 2,000 miles ago! The complete install of the new engine was $7,500. (We have the paperwork from the previous owner, message us to see it)
Apart from the new engine it also has:
-a King size bed! Really!
-a good working propane fridge (very cold)
-a good working propane stove with oven
-a good working propane heater (nice and toasty)
-a full bathroom with flush toilet, shower, and sink
-2 huge picture windows to take in your surroundings
-a flat screen TV and blue ray player
-all new LED high efficiency lights (really saves your house battery)
-a new stereo system with speakers in the back and a USB cable
-a Thule roof rack
-a tow hitch with lights
-4 extra bright PIAA lights mounted to the grill for increased visibility at night
-a city water and shore power hook up
-a good working fresh water tank and water pump
-a good working gray water tank and black water tank
-a water heater (but full disclosure we"ve never used it)
-new heavy duty shocks in the front end
-new rear brakes
-dual rear wheels
-all tires are in great shape with lots of tread (including spare)
-a total length of 20ft so it fits in a regular parking spot!
-no mechanical issues (runs great, shifts smoothly)
The things it doesn"t have:
-A/C, when the new engine went in the A/C unit was scrapped
-it"s missing 2 of the burner covers for the stove (we only use 2 burners at a time so we never got them replaced)
Our favorite things about this camper are the king sized bed and that it fits in a standard parking spot!
This camper is a great size for a taller couple. It"s so rare to find a van sized camper with an actual king sized bed. The 2 futon couches fold down to become slightly larger than a king sized bed. We put a standard king size 4in memory foam topper on the futon bed and were very happy. (We would recommend you do the same)
There is very minimal cosmetic rust on the exterior, esp for the age it"s in excellent shape. The interior is great shape. Never smoked in (we are 3rd owners). No leaks. No weird smells. Has easy to clean wood-like flooring (I think it"s vinyl or laminate), no old carpet.
The kitchen is also great. It has a very smart design with a double sink and lots of storage. The fridge is a good size, it can hold enough food for at least a week and the propane is super efficient so lasts a long time. We just put a new propane regulator on it as well, and had it tested, so it"s super safe and working perfectly.
All of the gauges work, including the control panel which shows:
-how much power is left in house battery
-how full the fresh, gray, and black water tanks are
(this is very useful and many vans don"t come with this)
It"s in great shape and the new engine runs really well.
We just winterized it because we had a few cold nights. This camper is ready for it"s new home :) We love the Chinook and are sad to see it go, but we just bought a new transit van and we can"t keep both.
