We’re pleased to announce we have another shop for sale. One of a kind! ! That’s the only way to explain this completely gutted, renovated and overhauled 1977 Airstream. Converted in 2015 into Missouri’s first and only mobile barbershop, The Shiny Hiney is truly custom. This beautifully retro mobile barbershop is more than just a place to cut hair on wheels: this baby gives you the opportunity to operate, advertise and be 100% owner of your business! Why rent a chair in a shop and limit your customer base by being immobile, when you could service the city by going where you’re needed most? Gain free advertising and widen your reach by participating in weddings, corporate events, classic car shows and fairs! If you’ve ever dreamed of being a business owner: this is your chance! This gem was completely overhauled and upgraded. Starting from the outside in, the entire exterior was polished using nuvite and the damaged back bumper was fixed. But as the old saying goes: it’s what’s on the inside that counts and this statement has never been more accurate. The interior was then completely gutted all the way to the studs, the frame was reinforced, and it was rebuilt from scratch to meet the needs of a retro barbershop, complete with antique chairs and classic barbers’ poles at every station and a show shine area. Custom benches were built over one wheel well to create extra seating, and the old bathroom was completely upgraded with a new toilet, custom vanity and shampoo bowl to replace the shower. To complete the retro design, the barber’s station top and drawers were custom made from century-old walnut. Details of upgrades:
Exterior: 3-pass nuvite shine, refinished factory rims in black, heat resistant paint on top, tinted windows, rear bumper repaired, tires 2 yrs old;
Interior completely gutted and rebuilt: new subfloor, removed wallpaper, polished inside and new custom wood walls, laminate flooring, installed an electric fireplace;
All electrical: upgraded to 220V, new wiring, conduit lines and breaker box
All plumping: new waste drain connections. addition of necessary water lines, new water heater and pump + cover and storage;
Upgraded AC wall unit 13,500 BTU + a portable AC unit;
Bathroom renovation: added sliding doors, paint, additional lighting, new sink, vanity, toilet and shampoo bowl;
Barbershop renovations:
Three vintage barber chairs, 75-100 years old that have been in use since the shop opened (note: they have a beautiful patina from regular use that perfectly matches the retro design):
