Vintage drag car from the golden age of drag racing. Run by the king of funny cars Russell James Liberman. This is an original body owned by Liberman, it was candy red in color and still has remnants of original paint here and there. The body is in great shape needing only minor body work and finishing of paint work. The hard work is already done. Body has brand new tin work done identical to the original, the original was intact but badly beat up but good enough to be used as a template. Spoiler is new as is interior tin, dog house and rocker panel moldings are original to car. Body has been documented to be authentic with way over twenty points of i.d. An extremely rare find that was saved from being scrapped. I have over a hundred hours in the fiberglass work alone.
The chassis was cloned by S&W Racecars in Pennsylvania. They had a hand in building the original chassis back in the the day. The original chassis was located but wasn"t for sale and had undergone way too many modifications to even consider trying to purchase from owner, so plan B was S&W, which turned out to be the way to fly. It"s brand new and never been under any other car. It has a 118" wheelbase, a new Dana 60 housing and Strange floaters in the rear. A mint set of Cragar Super Tricks ride on the front and rear, with a NOS set of Goodyear Blue Streak Slicks in the rear w/ M&H"s up front. Tube axle w/ P&S spindles and P&S steering box w/ a new red anodized butterfly steering wheel w/ wood grips. There is a Lakewood clutch can in car w/ peddle. This is being offered as a ROLLER ONLY.
If car sells, buyer will have first shot at Keith Black Stage 3 hemi block (never windowed, never repaired, in fact the outside has been highly polished!), water heads, magnesium valve covers, Milodon oil pan, Cragar intake manifold, Bowers 8:71 Magnesium Blower (Dow 7) and Crower 8-port injector w/ bell crank and custom linkage specific to this car. They are NOT part of the e-bay sale, PERIOD. I also have Cragar dual idlers, idler bracket (red anodized) Simpson chute (red) silver pack (vintage-mint) and Bob"s drag chute perfect dated safety belts, plus KB water necks and burn down tube housings
I think I"ve listed this as accurately as possible. I hate to list this but time and ambition have ganged up on me, so I thought I"d give someone a chance to own a real cool piece of drag racing history once owned by the greatest funny car driver/owner of all time "Jungle Jim" Liberman.
