INTERNATIONAL AND OVERSEAS BUYERS WELCOME!
If you do not like making friends everywhere you go, THIS IS NOT FOR YOU! People absolutely love this Vintage Airstream and you will too. It just makes everybody smile. You cannot go anywhere without many, many people wanting to take pictures with it. It is a very rare 1975 Argosy by Airstream 20 foot motorhome. They were only produced from 1974 to 1978 and were Airstream"s first venture into the motorhome market. They are called the painted Airstreams but are identical to the polished model trailers and RVs with their all aluminum, aircraft quality construction that is the best around. You never have to worry about roof leaks like on normal campers. Any Argosy is rare but the 20 footers are almost impossible to find. They only produced about 200 of them total and they are the smallest Class A RV ever made. Even among those 200, this one is even more rare because it is probably one of the most unrestored, completely original ones left on the planet. It is extremely easy to drive, can park in a normal parking space, you can even make a U-turn at a stoplight!
It still retains it"s original paint, original upholstery, original countertops, and even original carpet! They are all in remarkable condition for being 45 years young. Walking into this RV is like walking into a light and bright Mid-Century Modern home. If you want the Vanlife but are tired of cracking your head on low ceilings, having little room for anything, and having to take a shower outside while parked next to the 8000 other generic Sprinter Vans anywhere you go, you will realize how advanced Airstream was in the planning of these. You can stand up straight with plenty of extra head room, sit on your full size couch that folds into a bed, sit at your full size Roto-Dinette booth that folds into a bed, and take a shower in the bathroom in the back that also has the toilet and sink. Dometic refrigerator/freezer, three burner stovetop, oven, two pot sink, generator, roof air conditioning, dash AC, power steering, power brakes. It has plenty of closet storage and even more storage above/below the couch area with roll up Tambour doors. The Roto-Dinette front Mother/Daughter passenger seat rotates to face forward, turns around for the booth with a removable table that stores in back, and both of the bench seats rotate to have their backs against the passenger side wall to form another couch. Two new batteries were installed last week.
The Argosy is built on a Chevrolet P-30 one ton full size truck chassis so any mechanical parts are easily found and readily available at any local auto parts store. It is powered by a 350 Chevy V-8 mated to a Turbo 400 automatic transmission. Low original miles. The Argosy runs very well. It is very smooth and strong. All six tires have good tread. Alcoa look wheel liners. Clean, clear New Jersey title in hand.
It is located in Morganville, New Jersey 07751. Inspections in person are encouraged. I can help with transportation either getting it loaded on a truck or assisting you however I can at the buyer"s expense. Inspections are encouraged but must be completed before the end of the auction. $1000 non refundable deposit due at auction end and remaining balance due within three working days. Payment must be in the form of cash in person or via certified bank wire transfer. I do my best to accurately describe the vehicle to the best of my abilities. Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are NOT to be construed as a warranty of any type. It is the responsibility of the BUYER to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle, and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgement solely. The SELLER shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects associated with this vehicle at the buyer"s request prior to the close of sale. The BUYER is responsible for any/all shipment costs involved in transportation of the vehicle. References for shippers are available upon request. This Argosy is being sold "as is, where is".
