Vehicle description
*Long item description, but I want to be as detailed as possible*
No Reserve!
31 foot 1975 Airstream Romany. We have not owned this Airstream for long, but are unexpectedly having to sell it because we"re moving to an area where keeping it isn"t really an option. We purchased this with the intent of making it our Disney home away from home, but alas, life happened. As you will read in the description and see in the pictures, there are a few improvements/upgrades that have been started, which are now in the "incomplete" category due to our unexpected (and short notice) change of plans.
Interior: Beautiful inside, with updates that still keep the "retro" feel. Rear bath model (more info on that later). All lighting works, some bulbs have been replaced with LEDs, and we replaced the 12v fuse panel. Dometic refrigerator (not the original) works great on electric, not sure about gas. Cold A/C. Gaucho couch has been reupholstered. Water and plumbing lines are in good shape, with no leaks. Cabinetry includes original tambour doors. The curtains in the bedroom and above the couch, as well as the couch cover, were custom made by my wife.
Exterior: Only minor dents and dings (all small). In the pictures, you can see that we recently began stripping the clearcoat and started polishing right before life happened and we decided to sell. the Vista View windows have the UV film deteriorating as is common with an airstream of this age, but they don"t leak. A couple of the exterior light fixtures do not work, though it may be something as simple as replacing light bulbs. Zip Dee awnings all the way around. The awning fabric will need to be replaced at some point in the not-too-distant future. Four new tires purchased one year ago, and have had less than 100 miles put on them since then. The electric tongue jack makes hooking up a breeze.
Rear End Separation: Apparently, yes. We had the Airstream inspected by Sonny Hare (well-known Airstream repair guru), and he confirmed that this has a mild case of rear end separation. His opinion was that we could continue to use it and wait a couple of years before having it fixed, with really no issues, but that it should eventually be repaired. This trailer is perfect for someone who has the skills required to fix the issue, or for someone who intends to park it and use it in a fixed location (lake house, guest apartment, etc.).
Included with purchase: polishing tools/supplies, weight distribution bars, anti-sway bar, locking wheel chocks, and miscellaneous items for the interior updates.
Alabama registration. Per Alabama Department of Revenue, travel trailers older than 20 years do not require a title. Trailer will be sold via bill of sale along with a copy of the current registration.
This camper is over 40 years old, in good condition, and is being sold AS-IS where is, with no warranty implied or given.
Deposit is non-refundable, unless it is determined that I have provided false or misleading information. I recommend you ask questions prior to bidding, and I will happily and honestly answer them to the absolute best of my ability.
Thanks for looking!
