Vehicle description
This was represented as being a 90% complete renovation. I bought it here on eBay and when I got it home quickly realized it was more work than I have the knowledge/skill/space to do.
Here is what was in the original add. . .In my opinion it is not a 90% complete renovation!
"I hate to have to sell her! This is a 90% complete renovation. The outside thirds is the camper were taken down to the tin and re-framed with fresh solid wood and insulated with new board insulation, which is much lighter and much more efficient. Bathroom was gutted and updated. The back beds slide out and the sofa back cushions goes on with the twin mattress to create doubles. Front bench converts to wide twin. Back cabinet above window opened and can be used as single loft bed.
The bathroom is not complete. Re-framed. The plumbing ran to sink but not up to shower. Drain recently disconnected but all the pieces are there. I was debating how I wanted to do it since I use campground shower. Outside propane point of use shower run in, solar bag on the roof, Have not tested the water heater, but plumber looked at it and thinks it is fine. I also need to troubleshoot the running lights on that back wall. The brake lights and turn signals are fine. Therefore I didn"t attach tin walls.
I wanted to add some type of cabinet front under back beds.
Front pull out step is warped. I use a block step.
Fridge is practically new. Electric.
Jack needs replaced, I just use truck jack. Make sure she is level side to side so AC drains properly.
New electric run in back half. Back glitzy lights are shades on n top of original low profile light fixture. Chandelier is a plug in.
Roof AC can be removed and replaced with a regular vent. Window AC installed in cabinet and vented is only a year old. 5000 BTU.
Ceiling needs done. I was going to use marine vinyl which you can get cheap from fabric store, but needed to change roof AC to standard vent light and I hadn"t gotten to it yet. Right now it just has drop cloth tacked up.
She is old but sturdy. Needs some work, but a ton of work is already done. A handyman could get her into shape in a day or so. I can leave extra renovation supplies in there if you want.
Very easy to pull and set up. I"m a single mom and do it all myself no problem.
SOLD AS IS $300 non refundable deposit due at end of auction, full payment 5 days."
Ok. . .that"s what the original seller said about it. I am not as much a handyman as what this needs. Classic case of "I bit off more than I can chew"! What I do know about the camper is. . . It pulls wonderfully for a 43 year old camper. We had it up to 70 mph with strong wind hitting is from the side behind my Suburban with no weight distribution hitch and it did great! I was pleasantly surprised and pleased. We had a tiny bit of sway but nothing scary or dangerous and correctable with the proper weight distribution hitch. We did put a new hitch jack on it immediately and I would recommend that you have the bearings packed since we don"t know when the last time they were done was. Tires have some wear but are good. The drawers in the kitchen cabinet will need to be rebuilt as they are pretty much non existent. . .plastic baskets with cardboard fronts attached. The pics are Pretty accurate just make sure to zoom in and look closers than I did! It"s a 43 year old trailer and shows it"s age when you see it in person. Would I camp in it? Sure! It"s useable AS IS. I wanted it for a dog show Glamper so I don"t have to stay in gross dog friendly hotels or load and unload my dog show equipment constantly. But, like I said it needs more work than I know how to do! I am just hoping to re-coop what I spent on it!
