I’ve owned this 26’ GMC Glacier for a few years now and I’ll never get around to giving it the attention it deserves. It was in good shape when I bought it, fully operational, and I drove it trouble-free about 250 miles home but then it sat for about 6 years while we took care of aging parents and a few health surprises of our own. It’s sat in my driveway for all this time. This is a relisting due to a non paying bidder, and I’d really like to sell it this time around.
The RV has about 106K miles on it. It has the original and rebuilt 455 engine(@88K). The engine runs good and the transmission shifts well. The gas tanks have been cleaned and resealed(the only work I completed on it since I bought it). The brakes are shot. It had good brakes when I bought it but something’s happened to them during its long hibernation. Please, when thinking about bidding, approach it from the point of view that the brakes will have to be completely gone through. I’ve not investigated to see exactly what the problem is. The previous purchaser was certain it was the master cylinder and drove from Houston to the Georgia coast with another one, thinking he could put it on and drive it home. Well, that didn’t fix it; he also said some brake fluid was in the vacuum booster. He took his MC back off, put the old one back on, and headed back to Texas. I didn’t report him to as it was a helluva long drive for nothing. He also said the CV boots were leaking some grease and they had been doing it ‘for some time’. He actually test drove it and said the engine and transmission still seemed okay. Anyway, I don’t want to give the impression that it’ll be driveable home. Please pass on this one unless you can organize a way to get it to your house. I suppose it could be towed on a big enough dolly with a sturdy pick up truck. There are a number of garages about 5-7 miles away but I know nothing about them. If you want to contact them and have them send someone over to look at the RV to see if they can handle it, or just send anyone for a pre-purchase inspection that’d be okay.
The RV had 6 new Michelin’s on it when I got it, now dated but not cracked and look good. It has the Alcoa rims. It has the original air suspension with valves at the bags. I have a spare bag and a spare cone. The fiberglass body looks like it’s never had a major repair, and there’s no evidence of frame damage or anything beyond light surface rust. I don’t think it’s ever been in a crash. No leaks at present, and no evidence of prior leaks. It’s been through several hurricanes since I’ve owned it and has stayed dry inside. The pictures make the finish look a little better than it actually is, I understand from the previous owner it was painted with Imron. It looks like they ran a little short of paint on the lower left side in the back. All the glass is intact, with just a little fogging on the edges of the windshield. All new furniture on the inside, no tears or stains. The mattress is new. The Refrigerator is also new, 120v only. There’s a new convection oven and new electric cooktop. Propane tank has been removed. Single roof AC/heater works but the last time I turned it on it sounded like it may need a new capacitor. 30 hours on Onan 4K watt generator. Generator has a separate start battery. Side bath with new looking AquaMagic toilet. I’ve never used the toilet or turned on the shower or filled the water tanks, so the plumbing is completely untested by me. There are two TVs and two DVD players with remotes installed. I have some miscellaneous extra stuff like the 30A power cord, sewer hose, etc.; the prior owner also gave me a new grille, but the one on it looks fine. It’s never had a trailer hitch installed on it. It has the central vacuum.
I’m selling this as is, where is. I have clear title in hand. I don’t need to trade for anything or take payments. There is no reserve. $500 deposit in 24 hours. The prior winner actually test drove this, but my wife asked me to not allow this again due to liability concerns, which makes sense. I do have a big circular driveway at the house though.
