1973 Airstream Argosy 24 We purchased our 1973 Airstream Argosy 24’ trailer in October of 2019. It had new axles and tires with electric brakes, but everything else was original or close to it. Since then the trailer has been completely gone through, repaired and rebuilt. The frame was stripped, inspected and treated with converter and painted. Old sub-floor insulation was removed and replaced with solid foam insulation. Belly skins were upgraded around the sides and in the back with thicker .040 aluminum. The entire exterior was sanded, primed and painted with Matthews acrylic polyurethane paint in Christmas White and Monaco Tan. Weak and damaged sub-flooring was replaced with new treated plywood and topped with modern composite interlocking flooring planks. The original cabinets were rebuilt and re-skinned. Walls were cleaned and painted. Plumbing was gone through and converted to cpvc where it was warranted, including the entire lav. All lighting was converted to LED. Overhead and sink lighting have bright and soft settings. New fixtures were added in the galley and lav. All counters are new with new laminate and trim in the lav, kitchen and dinette. The entire lav was demolished and rebuilt with new materials and the shower was re-engineered and waterproofed. All electrical was made more accessible in the lav. Power converter is a new Powermax PM3-45 45 amp unit with smart charger (no battery is included). A new front dinette was built with hinged storage bins along with new cushions and curtains. A new dining table was built and mounted on a new Springfield 3-stage table pedestal. The rear, exterior storage array was demolished and rebuilt as a wet storage locker with key entry. A matching lock is located on the exterior battery access box. All exterior trim and logos were completely stripped and refinished. The original slide out exterior step has been rebuilt. A Clarion VT-305 stereo is included along with an array of Bose speakers including subwoofer. Refrigerator and oven/stove were refurbished in a stainless steel finish. A xles and tires were replaced by previous owner within the last 5 years and a 3” lift added. A/C blows cold and strong and includes an electric heater. Gas heater works well. New carbon monoxide and smoke detectors installed. Interior textiles are all new and unused (All new materials and bedding from Walmart and walmart.com).
